Sorry. That seems stupid to bribe him to speed things up. The chuck item production to buy this is already expensive. I have no reason to throw out more money than what I already have from all the ecigs I've put into and no one else should.

It's an extra cost available for Expedited Service. Some folks don't like it and some folks don't mind. When it comes down to the fact that there's plenty of 150+ dollar mods out there.. the extra 20 isn't all that big of a deal, especially when you're ordering a second Chuck. :)

Also if you're going to really think about it, obviously go to the fact of cigs smoked vs the lifespan of a Chuck. Good batteries and your Chuck will last you as long as you want it to last you. 13 (8.02/pk here, so 104 bucks) packs of cigarettes will last you a week or two.

The 80-90$ + battery /atomizer expense is already at a insane price to throw out there.

If you think 80 bucks for a PV is insane, you shouldn't go to too many other sites, since the Chuck is one of the most affordable BBM's on the market. I believe it is the least expensive tube, but I am invariably wrong most of the time so this wouldn't be an exception if I was incorrect.

Atomizers really can't be factored into a mod purchase, if you somehow go through more than 1-2 atomizers in a month then you should look into cleaning methods, or find a better distributor with more solidly crafted atties. Either way, mod or no mod you're still going to be using atomizers on your other PV, and again it's still a worlds difference in cost over smoking. Frankly, if you go through more than 1 atty every 2 months, I'd be worried, to be totally honest.

A good battery will last you 500-1000 recharge cycles, and average that out with Chuck batteries which generally (for the large Chuck, and non constant usage) equates to a recharge a day for dual cr123s, and every 2-3 days for a good 18650 2200mAh or better, that's nearly a year and a half under perfect conditions for cr123's and theoretically over 3 years for the 18650 under the guise of 1000 actual recharges. Of course, if you buy subpar batteries that can't handle the load, you'll be buying them much more often.

What I'm concerned now is his replies are sloppy when I want an explanation on some of his designs whether it can go along with it or not.

Try a PM on the boards here if you haven't. His spam folder is hungry and eats often. It's one guy (sometimes two if Raven stops by from what I hear), not an assembly line with customer service reps. He does pretty damn amazing at keeping everything under control as far as I can tell. It's also not his day job.

The last reply I got with him was "I am currently under 2 weeks from order date" when I asked him what he meant by that.

It means the production time is less than two weeks from the date the payment goes through and the order is logged. Or at least, that's what I would conclude from that.

Jeff is a busy guy, plain and simple. His website is very informative, as is this forum. The way I look at it, Jeff has a daytime job and this is something he does on the side. He can't be working, answering a ton of e-mails in as detailed of a way that you may expect, making chucks, and have some free time for family, friends and downtime. If you have any questions that might be general, like what batteries, attys, etc, just ask here and help save Jeff some time.

His prices are reasonable and if someone wants to shell out a few extra bucks to expedite their chuck being made, let it be. If it's not for you, then don't do it.

I didn't make any "donations" as this is my first chuck and Ive lived without it for this long, I figured I could wait it out. I got my shipping notification 15 days after ordering, which, for a handmade, custom product, made by ONE working guy in the US, I think is excellent.

Thanks Jeff and I am excited to receive my first chuck!

Wow testy! Anyway, I'm just excited, saw the "donate" option and I have the money to do so, so why not? You seem to have a lot of complaints about Thagbuilt... Why did you choose them then? And my first atomizers ever bought (and every last one of the other 12 or so) are still going strong getting close to 3 months now, and didn't need batteries or a charger (have a mod that uses the same kind). Also, Vaping is an expensive habit when you get into mods... That's just the way it is. There is always the option of stock batteries if it doesn't suit you, but I have faith that you and I both will not regret our purchases, and if you take good care of all of your equipment like I do the cost is greatly reduced. Have a good one.

So I went to the pulmonary clinic to get my results.

The doctor said I am "one of the lucky ones who can get away with smoking" which I correct to "got away with smoking -- there is no future tense allowed.

I have no lung damage at all except for what is caused by my weight. I'll get the results of my new x-ray (re the pneumonia) tomorrow but she thinks the pneumonia is gone. She also considered a CT scan to see if there are any pre-emphysema indicators but she decided against it.

I always said that I didn't get that morning "cough up a lung" thing but no one ever believed me. And, while I do feel better since quitting, other than having functioning taste buds and a sense of smell, it was nothing dramatic. And that's fine with me. The point of vaping is to quit before doing irreparable damage.

Poeia, that is wonderful news. I want to do the same at my next physical, get my lungs looked at. When you smoke you want to just stay in a denial mode and not know but when you quit, you wanna know there is nothing looming that could get worse.

Did she say not getting the morning hack was a good indicator that you were doing little harm when smoking? I never got it, until just this past year and only then on occasion.

I went with the amethyst illusion, almost went with the lapis. It was a tough call. You'll love it though, pictures do not do it justice.

Did you even read my reply? What "lot of complaints" bull ....? All I said was or mentioned that his reply was not content or upfront meaning not taking me seriously as a buyer. All other manufacturers and ejuices (aside from buying from china in the past) haven't had any problems contacting someone over email with my complete questions answered.

I just realized I put this in here instead of in the Saturday thread. That was because I first typed a reply about it being presumptuous for someone to tell other people how they are allowed to spend their money then thought better of it. Don't want to start any flaming. I erased that then typed my medical news.

No, I never even discussed the hacking with her. But what was driving me to quit smoking was never how it made me feel, it was knowing the damage it was doing. Any time I coughed people blamed it on the smoking but it was usually my allergies. Smoking did give me a dry throat but it was only unmanageable when my allergies went into overdrive.

I clicked on this thread right after you posted it and wondered how long it would take before you noticed you had done that. And didn't comment because I wasn't sure if you would decide to move it lol

Great news up there though. :thumb:

To be honest I kinda of understand why he is having a beef with that bribe system. I think better wording would be simply rush ordering, and posting time frames. The way it looks now is that if you give him more money he will bump others for you, and there is no limit to how far you will get bumped as long as others keep buying and paying the bribe.
Probably a posted time frame of how long it can take up to no matter how many people are paying that extra cash would set peoples minds at ease.
Its all about how you present this, and I dont think the way its being presented gives a good impression, but thats just my opinion.

The other stuff that guy posted, well some just get impatient when the send money out on the net I guess. Personally I didnt email him once after I ordered, because I just didnt wanna bug the guy or take time away from him that he could use to be working on getting my order done. I just told him, if theres any questions about my order, shoot me an email. Then I waited.

And on a side note, my order should be here today according to tracking information. Cant wait to come home from work and check it out.
So from day I ordered to day received makes 23 Days if anyone is curious.
I have batteries charged, I have some cartomizers purchased, and plenty of juice. Trying 6volts out when I get home I think :)

Well, when you click on the "donation" I called it a bribe way back when, but when you click on it, the amazon payment link does say "Expedited Service". That's all there really needs be, right?

It may not be presented correctly in this thread, but that's hardly the site.

The only thing on his site that really alludes to that is :
"Every unit is hand-built, assembled and tested before shipping.
I will be taking orders and filling them on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unless of course you bribe me with a handsome sum of money."

This has always been there to my knowledge.

As far as anything else, all other information gleaned has been people who do not represent Jeff officially, i.e. this forum. :)

Aaaaaanyways lol. The reason I donated was because I actually WANTED to, not to bump others behind me in the wait line- that thought actually never crossed my mind once. I didn't donate to be mean and make others wait longer. He has the option for expedited service and I took it. Simple as that. I don't see why it was such a big issue, I mean it's on his site clear as day and I'm sure he enjoys the extra money, wouldn't you? Sorry to have offended you, icey

I dont see a big issue, but I can see both sides of it and get why some may get upset about it. I always try to see both sides. You know what they say theres always 2 sides to a story, and then theres the truth lol

Lemme explain my take on the whole 'bribe' thing. Being that I have 2 decades in fabricating stuff for people who all wanted it yesterday!

Here's the way it kinda works....man can only work so hard and so long in any given day. Occasionally someone will need to have theirs right away....doesn't matter who else is in line. As a fabricator you basically might have to squeeze that one in, not so much bumping those in line, rather putting in more hours to your work day to do an additional job.

So the way I perceive the whole donation thing is: You want Jeff to put in a few more hours, take away from his sleep time, family time, beerdrinkin time and whatnot????? Then, as a kindness, you send him some money. When you work more than regular hours, the trade off you get for running yourself ragged is money.

I hope I was able to put the whole bumping order, bribe thing into perspective. If you look at it this way, then no one is getting bumped, there is no unfairness. Okay.
