Was just looking at a data sheet that at least with this switch shows how the electrical life increases with lower amps going threw the switch. Also gives a AC and a DC rating
Mechanical Life: 500,000 operations minimum
Electrical Life:
50,000 operations minimum for 3A @ 125V/250V AC & 3A @ 30V DC
100,000 operations minimum for 1A @ 125V/250V AC & 1A @ 30V DC

I think it is safe to say for this info that if i put 5 amps threw this switch the electrical life would be cut quite a bit from 50,000 operations.

I personally think it is Overkill for a 3.7v 14500 2xAA batterybox mod to spend over 6.00 for a switch but that is up to u...u will have more invested in that switch than all the other parts...u have to remember people have been making box mods with the smaller switches for some time...the problems started when we started upping the voltage to the atty. What kind of switch do u think they r using with the ego battery...id like to know the rating on that and thats commercially built.

Cant say for sure on the ego but i have some dead ones coming via mail next week. But if they are anything like the 510 i took apart the switch will go the the protection/ mosfet board much like a voltage regulator using the control pin. I really doubt they are direct switches considering if you test a fully charged one that should read 4.2 volts you get about a 3.7 voltage reading. That voltage drop is due to a mosfet i am pretty sure. One of the reasons i like a direct switch , voltage drops suck. Hopefully late next week when i cut one open i can prove or disprove that theory. Or maybe someone that has already taken one apart will chime in.
