This is good to hear. and kudos to QuickLazer to wait a bit and see what the bat might do.

And important note: I'd watch carefully the next time it is charged after a drop. These Triton bats are tough, but these are Lithium Ion batteries, and they carry a LOT of potential energy. I would not have them charging unattended.

I need to find a kid's toy, shaped like a triangle or square made of rubbery plastic, kind of soft, with a 3/8 or 1/2 inch hole in the middle. Sort of like those grips you can get for pens or pencils. I want to slip it over the tank and/or battery. It'll keep it from rolling off my desk, and help protect it if it should drop. But it'd look strange out and about, as I usually slide it into a pocket.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it during the charge tomorrow morning. What to look for? What can happen to a damaged Lithium Ion battery? Fire? Explosions?

Possible for all the above, that's why you want to be watching during a charge. I would charge it on strip that you can turn off without touching it. Things to look for are swelling and leaking of gas or fluid. It's probablly ok, just keep an eagle eye on it for the first charge after bounce checking it...

That's terrifying lol. Will do as advised. Thanks.

Is that why they advise that you don't actually plug into the wall but into a Power strip?

I have been wondering about that for awhile but thought it was a silly question to ask.

Cindy

The silly question is the one you don't ask. Power strips, quality ones anyway, have built in circuit breakers also. I would rather flip a switch to turn off a defective battery than try to grab it to get it out of the wall socket.

@Quicklaser periodically check for excessive heat on the battery also.

Last week I took a spill after a few drinks and cracked my tank and put a small dent in the dial of my VV. Still kicking no problems.

With the bigger battery Tritons, I always have problems while in the car with it slipping out of my pocket and into the void. You know that gap on the right between the drivers seat and the center console? It's tough to fish crap out of there with your hand lol.

I just had a Halo mini-wall charger crap out on me after 5 months of use. Totally dead. I tore it apart and plugged the component into a wall outlet and got a nice little zap. Fun.

Good answer, Gopher. Also, you can put the power strip someplace a bit safer. If the wall charger/adapter/battery decides to get hot, now you have a burnt wall!

@Bravesfan, wondering, where you heard that? I had never heard that, but I always plug it into a strip or at the least, an extension cord, just to have it a bit closer.

I've always charged mine in a powerstrip. My problem now is, I gave 'Manuel' (Blue VV) a little bath last night, (he was feeling all sticky) and a little water got on the 'buh-in' and now...I..I killed him! :( Is there any way to resurrect 'Manuel'?

Poor Diva!! You are getting nothing? I'd try to shake it, to try to get the droplets out of the circuits. Shake it like a thermometer. Then put it in a ziploc with dry rice. It'll help dry it out. Then maybe put it back on the charger and see what lights you get.

Manuel just needed a wipe with a slightly damp towel. You know how sensitive Manuel is with his buh-in.

as a famous philosophiser from south park once quipped, there's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people :D
and I'm not calling you stupid, I just love that joke.

and 222 days greenleaf, well done, and well done on not dying from electric shock. Those usb wall chargers are so cheap, probably cost 10 cents to make, just buy another one, I bought 5 for $5.

Thank you kindly, I am so proud of myself for having made it this far! Crazy how time flies. Without Halo, I would probably still be sucking down cancer sticks without a second thought. Did you really smoke 2.5 packs a day? Major props to you. Have you lit a cig since then?

The shock kinda tickled a little. Nothing like the close calls I have had working on car batteries. :?:

Sometimes when I walk across the carpet to unplug a fully charged battery, and grab it to pull it out of the wall, I get a surprise release of static electricity.

I believe the charging components are re-branded china crap? But I'm not putting the charger into my lungs like the ejuice, so....where did you get the cheaper components?
