I gotta be honest, I've been on probably 15 different forums over the years, and have never felt so noobish starting out as I have here. The new terminology, the different kinds of e-cigs, the mods...it's a lot to take in when you're just starting out. But on the up side, this looks like the right place to get all the info I need :2cool:

Had my last analog 6 days ago; the same day I picked up my eGo-T kit. Been happy with it and haven't looked back once. But I do want to make sure I get the most out of vaping. I know all of this has been asked before, but I'm hoping you guys will share some experience and point me in the right direction-

That occasional bitter, burnt plastic taste - how can I avoid that? Am I drawing too long or not keeping enough juice in the cartridge? Do I need to clean the atomizer already? I've found some flavors I really enjoy but getting that nasty taste in the back of my throat can ruin it pretty quick.

Cartomizer? Clearomizer? - From what I've read so far there seems to be alot of strong opinions about using these, either for or against. Did I read it right that using these will help improve the flavor and vapor over a standard atomizer and cartridge set up? Also do they last as long as a regular atty or do they need replaced often?

Upgrades? - I've been reading about different upgrades like dual coil or low resistance atomizers. Would I be better of waiting till my current setup wears out and needs replaced or start looking into these now? It's not that I'm ready to change everything after only a week, but if I can be getting more enjoyment out of vaping by changing a few things, then I'm all for it.

Dripping? - I've got the basics of what dripping is, but I'm curious how much more juice you go through vs a standard cartridge setup? Fortunately an e-cig shop opened here locally so I'm not worried about running out and having to wait for an order to arrive; but I'd still like to know how much juice I'd go through.

Thanks for bearing with a noob's questions. Look forward to talking to you all -- :toast:

Bump.. (ok I needed my 5th post lol)

I stopped by my local vaping shop today and picked up some CE2 XL 2.4 ohm cartomizers to try them out. I like em! No more burnt taste! Definitely alot easier than messing with refilling a cart all day. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the fact that having the internals visible through the clear plastic. I like the uniform look of my eGo-T batt with the matching cone. But I guess I can sacrifice function over form. Does anyone know if there's an equivalent cartomizer that's solid black or maybe has a clear widow to monitor the juice level?

Dripping or using cartridges can lead to the foul taste of a burnt atomizer pretty quickly, you need to learn the signs , slightly less vapor and a bit drier taste just before it gets too dry.

Cartomizers are a little more forgiving you get a slow drying taste.

Low resistance is a hotter vape and uses more juice faster, atomizer or cartomizer style, they will work on your current setup.

Dripping gives you the most and best flavor from juice but there is a learning curve to dripping, if you drip too much you will flood the atomizer and get less vapor and waste juice. And if you are not aware of the slight flavor change you are liable to vape the atty dry and get the burned taste.

As for wicking cartos such as CE2 and G4 some people love them some don't. You just have to keep trying different setups until you find one that works for you.

I had this as well. I was told it was a wick issue and the wick either had to be pushed in (or pulled out a bit?) forget which one. Anyway, that's what I was told regarding the burnt plastic taste- the wick needs to be adjusted.

I've used boge 2.0 cartomizers and dual coil cartomizers and like them both. I like that you can see how much juice is in the clear dual coil and it holds a lot of juice. Some of my lighter juices are a little muted in the dual coil. Like the boge but it holds less juice.

Upgrades? - I've been reading about different upgrades like dual coil or low resistance atomizers.
