I use the KR808D-1. It looks like a regular cig. People walk up to me all the time and ask for a light.

Whatever you end up getting, I would order 2 batteries, so you have a back-up plus it takes over 3 hrs for a battery to charge, a charger, a pack of blank cartomizers & e-juice or cartomizers that are already pre-filled. This should be all you need to get started.

Good luck and I wish you the best.

manual is deffinetaly better you have less of a chance of damaging it from juice and can control your hit allot better. manual you have to press a button auto you just suck to activate

I wish your husband (and you too) good luck with this endeavor. The above is fine, and I'll not repeat it. I did read something about Australia having a huge fine if you a caught with nic-juice. Some idiot decided that tobacco, and even rat poison is OK to sell, but e-cig juice (with nic) is not. Go figure. Anyway....

Now, you can order ZERO-NIC flavored juice. You can also use nic lozenges at the same time. Or... risk it. Just though you should know about it since 8 grand is a lot of cash.

I'd recommend, based upon your request, an evo from intellicig.com (intellicig-usa.com for USA). They have them in the black but they also have the ones that look just like an analog. They are quality made and I am fond of them. The only downside to this model is the same downside you will find with any model that looks like a real cig; the battery life. They last only 2-3 hours of frequent use on the span of a battery. You can always grab a spare battery with it and keep them both charged... but it can be a bit of a PIA to do that.

I believe intellicig also carries a "disposable" e-cig that is good for x number of puffs but it basically is to see if they would be okay with using an e-cig as an idea. I recently upgraded from the intellicig evo to the Buzz. (A variable voltage mod which you can find at notcigs.com) I JUST got it today so I don't think I'm able to give a proper review of it, but the size is what I like the most about it. It fits in my palm comfortably and will also fit in my pocket. The battery life is supposedly 7-8 hours and the Buzz Pro that should be coming out next month supposedly is double that. Something you may want to look into in the future if your husband does take up vaping.

Best of luck to you!

EDIT: Just saw you are in Australia. :( What terrible luck.. from what I've read, the above poster is correct. It is now a 8,000 dollar fine if you are caught with nicotine liquid in AUS. (I'm not sure if that is just through customs or if you are stopped by law enforcement and found to be in possession of it.) I'm really sorry to hear this and I hope your government will get it straightened out soon. =/

As an ex-smoker who would only smoke 2 cigarettes when at work, but because of my ability to vape at my desk, I would suggest an eGo. The least expensive eGo will give him at least 8 hours vaping time. I like having the carts available because I like to vape different flavors during the work day, so I find it easy to fill a couple of carts with liquid, toss them in the carry case and go.
Since I can vape almost anywhere, I tend to vape almost constantly, and that is one of the advantages. That ability to vape so much keeps my mind off the fact that I am not smoking cigarettes.

The manual has a button that releases the vapor and the auto releases the vapor as the user inhales. I have one of each. I accidentally ordered a manual instead of an auto. I like it OK, but personally I prefer the auto.

Id like to know the answer to that too. Its a real PIA that I cant order the juice....we are backward in soooo many things here but I wont get into that :glare::glare::glare:

I just bought a cheap mini one that comes with little cartidges...will give those a test run to see if he likes them....the 8 hour first charge sucks tho!

I appreciate everyones input! Very friendly and helpful here!

Just want to say hi to another Parsons and best wishes to you and your husband. I hope the vaping gets him off the smokes for good.

Oh yeah... Every country on the planet seems to be backwards in one way or another.

Lithium-Ion batteries do not have a memory effect and do not need to be charged for 8 hours the first time.
Almost all electronic cigarette batteries come with those instructions and they are all 100% incorrect.

You can use it right when you get it as long as it has a charge.
And you only need to charge it until the charger tells you it is done.

Thats what we did, charged in 3 hours. We found it it doesnt give him that "kick" like a nicotine one would....and as we cant get nicotine juice here in Australia, I dont reckon these will work for him.

I started with a Riva 510 and a pass-through from Liberty Flights. The pass-through is great - it attaches to your computer so you don't have to worry about your battery running out.

"Manual 650mAh batteries that have an end cap that can be removed and plugged in to a USB port and thus be used like a pass-through. Screwing the end cap back allows the battery to be used in standard mode, untethered to the USB like a normal battery."

Hey Parsons71 - I've got it. Why don't you get him some nicotine gum and then he can chew on the gum as he vapes. He is then getting his nicotine that he'll no doubt get cravings/withdrawals for. And he'll have the "habit" side of things covered by chugging on his e cig and producing and exhaling loads of vapour.

Christ i'm good at this.
