Thought I might share some good news. First a little back story. 10 days ago, I went to the hospital and found out I had pneumonia. While I was there, they did a CT scan and chest x-rays. I was informed by my doctor that they saw a 5cm mass on my right lung. I smoked for 20 years and was willing to accept my fate that I may have lung cancer. My wife cried as I told her about them finding the mass. I held my 2 daughters and wept in regret for the poor decisions I've made in my life. I was so mad with myself for not having the strength to quit before and now it seemed that it would be too late. I went for a follow-up CT scan this afternoon. It turns out that the ER doctor should have phrased the report differently and not used the word mass but accumulation. It was an accumulation of mucus caused by the pneumonia... and it was gone. My doctor called me shortly after the scan to inform me of the good news. She also told me to keep vaping if that made me happy as long as I don't go back to smoking. This has been one of the longest weeks of my life and I honestly hope you never have to hear a doctor say that your life is in jeopardy. After 2 years of vaping and trying to eat healthier, I may get to be an old man if I'm lucky. vaping will help that dream come true.

And words do matter:

mass vs. accumulation
smoking vs. vaping
fear vs. hope

Thank you all for the kind words. They mean a lot to me and my family. This turned out to be a good day. Everyone here has made it a special one. There are so many damn good people here. We should be so proud to be a part of this forum of positive vapers. I know I am.
