Some lady who had a Marlboro hanging out of her mouth told me my vapor smelled terrible and to put it away or move along, I couldn't help but laugh at her. It was a bar/outdoor smoking section and she was dead serious and not being polite about it.
I think a lot of smokers who can't quit are bothered and annoyed by vapors who have.

My local vape shop has one juice I can't stand the smell of, and it's a very popular juice. I'd still take that over cigarette smoke smell anytime if I had to. Then again, I can smell cigarette stench...

That's it exactly, we're a huge threat to them, just because we managed to quit cigarettes. And those who quit before e-cigs came around, they're just plain JEALOUS that we have it so "easy," compared to whatever agonies they suffered -- it's just not right, to them, to call yourself a non-smoker, if you didn't suffer to get there.

I've even gotten this from my idiot ex-husband, who's never smoked, and is one of the most strident ANTZ I've ever had the misfortune to know -- when I told him I'd finally quit by using e-cigarettes, his response was "welllll... you're still using nicotine." I pointed out that the patch contains nicotine too, didn't that count? He said that a person couldn't be said to be an actual non-smoker until they're done with the patch. Everything out of that man's mouth makes me so grateful for my 2nd husband, it's not even funny.

Then the one guy starts telling me how he refuses to use them because they cause long term cardio and brain issues... what?

    Same thing happened to me.

Then his girlfriend came over and asked all about my rig and how great she thought vaping would be.

That's when I started to put two and two together.

..his response was "welllll... you're still using nicotine.".

A few nights ago I was talking with a friend. I told her I was coming up on six months. She asked, "Six months of what?". When I said, "Of vaping, and not smoking a cigarette", she said something like, "But isn't that the same? They have nicotine and so do cigarettes." I replied, "And besides the inhalation thing, that's pretty much the only similarity.."

I like it. :D I just say "95%-99% safer than smoking." No matter what they say, I just repeat that over and over until they run out of steam. If they shut up for a minute, I then add, "if you'd like to know some REAL TRUTH about e-cigarettes, I highly recommend e-hyphen-cigarette-hyphen-forum-dot-com." Anything else they say, it's back to "95%-99% safer than smoking." :D

You camt really say that because as of now we have no idea what the long term effects of vaping flavor concentrates are. As of know we know the short term benefits are better but who knows what might start happening when peoole have been vaping 30yrs.

How long have you been vaping andriad

    That's a false argument.
    Absence of evidence isn't evidence.

You think something magical is gonna occur in 30 years?
    Nothing in e-juice is new.

There are a lot of scared smokers out there and while it's easy to belittle them in real life and on here if we hadn't found vaping and tried it quite a few on here myself included would be amongst them. I find it a bit hypocritical to have the attitudes some on here have to smokers and then talk about vaping as the answer to being tobacco free, sometimes we don't just need to be superior we need to give the confidence to current smokers to think about vaping and look beyond the barrage of negative rubbish being thrown at vaping on a daily basis. Plant the seeds people engage with haters and ignorance and you'll get far more positive results then negatives and every naysayers that comes over doesn't just prove themselves wrong about vaping they show their friends and family even co workers.

Vaping is under threat from so many angles at the minute we don't have the luxury of sitting on a pedastool looking down we have to work our backsides off winning friends and converts and if we don't do it who will.

Man! That bar keeps getting pushed higher! :grr:

First it was "We don't know, until 10 years have passed, if there are any lasting affects". Well almost 10 years have gone by for some of our early vapers and no negative health consequences have been reported. More of the opposite, increase in health benefits is being reported.

Now someone is saying we need 30 years?!?!?! WTH? I'll bet when we start getting close to that 30 year mark, the bar will be raised again.
