and in other news, i finished my first genesis. I honestly can't say i like it better than the ce2 with the tanks i made. it has a harder draw which is fixable, but the throat hit is too much for me. i'll play with it, but i don't think it will be my go to device.

Throat hit and vapor are just a matter of heat and wick. In general, more heat => more TH. Mesh, how you roll it, and air flow (air hole size and placement) will adjust volume and to a lesser extent TH. Some combination of 32g or 34g kanthal and how many wraps makes the heat adjustment infinitly adjustable. And how you do your mesh can accomodate/optimize for any juice from the thinnest pg to the thickest vg. It's really (currently) the ideal, user serviceable, permanent device IF you're capable of doing the mesh wicks and wrapping a coil.

gummy makes a valid point.

I'll play with it some more when i get back from europe.

either way, using 34g nichrome, running around 2.6 ohms. huge throat hit, not as much vapor as expected based on the TH. 400 mesh size. etc.

What did you use for a vent hole? A lower hole about 1mm and 6mm from the bottom seems to work great for vapor on our Hybrids. Also, 'raidy' mentioned that 425 or 500 mesh produces mad vapor and little TH. I don't think anyone has tried the higher mesh count yet?

It depends... on a lot of things but largely on juice.
I get huge volume (see Oosturmoo's last demo video for comparison) and throat hit that gives everyone else who has tried it violent coughing fits. I'm direct inhaling with a 3 mm air hole thats half way up. There are some basics that will get you in the "functional" ball park and after that it all depends on what juice you're using, how you vape, and naturally your preferences.
extremely thick 100% vg (cannot be drawn through a 21g needle). 32 nic.
400 mesh
1.3 Ω (plenty of battery)

I tried the 325 mesh and it did not have the vapor/th difference Raidy predicted. In fact it maybe have been the opposite. Also, counterintuitively considering my thick juice, it did not wick nearly as well as the 400. So... it depends. The beauty of these is that they can be adjusted to meet any needs. The only downside is size and initially getting a solid assembly.

Well, the tube cracked while I was trying to clean out the tank, so it's rebuild time....AGAIN! Guess I let it sit too long. Going to cut the tubes going through the reservoir a little long, then seal the top off with heat shrink tube to try to stop the condensate from running back down in to the switch housing. : crossing fingers:

@ Dan.....I'm guessing that one is a thinner version? I need one about the width of an 18650. I want to incorporate one in to one of my wood mods and the space is just enough room for an 18650 batt to fit in. DAMN I wish I had a lathe....or someone that could turn one for me.

Well this is 7/8OD and 3/4ID for the tube I am using, so yep a little bigger than the size of a 18650 battery.

Fine work as usual Dan. I take it you got that second lathe working?

Dude, you are far too industrious to be a bat, lol. You sure you're really not a bee or something like that? :)

Nope a Bat :) And yep got the second Lathe operational, will be carting it to VapeStock for Gummy.

I just finally checked out emachineshop.com, it's pretty awesome actually. Hopefully they can build my prototype cheaper than the local shop here in town :)

Yeah it works great, need the seed money to order 100 of them. Need the prototype dimension double checked before I think about it.

Got the atty connector pressed in last night. Here are a couple pics:

This one is being made for raffle at VapeStock! So whoever wins it I hope you enjoy it.

Right :), it's looking like there might be a whole bunch of new modders if it's this easy to whip something up and have it made to your spec!!

Also, the thanks go to scubabatdan. He mentioned this site a while back and I just recently got the inkling to check it out. I'm glad I did!

Why the "e-go" type recess which limits the batteries/pv it can be use on?

Another reason the make it with and ego tip is that large of a atomizer can use the extra support. I know alot of people here that use nothing but an ego and are looking for a gen mod with the ego connection type that is ressesed. With the standard 510 atty it is so small that the extra side to side support is really not needed. But to astetics and additional weight people do want one with the ego connection. I use a provari and mine are the standard flat bottom typ, however I am looking at making one that matches up to the provari for the same reason. Added support.

Structural support would require it to fit snug and that's not the case is it? I thought they were strictly aesthetic. Way back when I tried some of those first ego-megas or something or other. I have a mod so I cut the plastic skirt off the cartos. It was quite flimsy.

I would think if it wiggles enough at the connector to need support from the skirt it's not going to help. The connector and press fit of the connector into the carto are rigid.
