Hey Turbo....I know you know this, so what size and type of tubing is used for the genisis? My last tube shattered this morning while I was cleaning it...

OD- 20mm
ID- 16mm
wall thickness- 2mm
length- 30mm

Cast acrylic is best but can only be found in rod form for these specs. You could try extruded or poly too.

Yeah, this particular size is hard to find here in the states. I had to order it from Australia. It was fairly inexpensive for the tube ($10 for 1m excluded acrylic) but the shipping was killer ($35). But you end up with enough to last a long long time :)

It cuts easily in a mitre box then a quick standing to make sure the ends are flat and a flame polish with a butane torch and it's good to go. After the flame polish it's clear as crystal and almost as tough as cast. I have been using the first one I cut off the rod for over nearly 2 months and have been purposely rough with it to see how it holds up.

Been left in the car in the Florida heat, knocked over at least a dozen times on my desk and still not even a hint of failure. The hybrid mini goes with me everywhere now and is going strong :)

I still have not had to change the coil since I re-did the assembly with the threaded rod. I don't want to jinx it at this point, but it's almost too reliable at this point. I'm getting spoiled...might forget how to tear it down and put it back together if it goes too long before needing anything, hahahahaha.

I will take a video of the next teardown and rebuild so everyone can see how I did it. I said I'd do it next time I had to do a changeover of the coil, but it looks like I'm going to have to do it just for the heck of it if I'm going to get tut video up any time soon :)

Oh man! Now I am KICKING myself for selling my slim!!! Im going to have to try this one out! Just have to figure out the tank part. This is the exact size I need for my wood mod! I can do the connector...just drill it out for the atty connector. Did you fill it in with epoxy putty or silicone?

Again Sturm...Great work! (going shooping for a flashlight tomorrow! ) I might have to pick your brain about the tank. I understand how t works just by looking at it, but what is that at the bottom that the mesh goes through?

Ah I see. I was thinking of doing them in parallel but that is probably a bad idea. Maybe I can re work it for series. Although this could be a bad idea all around, but also maybe not. Maybe I will make one in series and one in parallel to see how it affects the vape of a genesis. If I can ever get mine made. Hopefully it will be sunday. We will see. Any opinions on how this would change the vape? So in parallel, with two four ohm coils you would only get two ohms. Meaning it will be a longer cable that gets warmer?

I cannot understand the idea at all. What for do you need 2 coils? Why not use only one with needed configuration? To switch power? In this case every coil works independendly...

One advantage to doing two in parallel is the surface area, but i don't know if they would get hot enough. to be at two ohms you would need 4ohm coils. granted, 2, 2 ohm coils would give more surfce area tht should heat up nicely. no idea if it would really be an advantage though.

RatInDaHat, I tried two coils in parallel. Just because that time I had not an appropriate wire, but scratched my hands. It was a hell to make the coil and finally I moved back, to usual coil.
IMO, if you want more steam, just use a mesh no more than 14 mm width and a little increase diameter of your wick, to, say, 2.3 - 2.5 mm. You will get a thin wall of the wick and the whole mesh will work as heater more efficiently

Colleagues, please excuse my awkward english, in Russian I speak better :(

If you connect the coils in parallel, resistance divided to 2, so it will be 1 ohm. If you connect them in series, resistance multiplied to 2, so it will be 4 ohm.
Is this what you asked about?

I always thought this was reversed. Series = total resistance /2 and parallel = total resistance x2...

I'll have to look that back up again...darned ohm's law...who made him the boss so he could make those rules anyway :)

Why? What is the problem you're trying to solve/improve?
