The idea of use the heater under the tank, is so far the best. Gravity accelerates the process of wick saturation and no leaks. Are we may ask for more.... :)

Dan, goooooood work

Thanks, I kinda like the clear tubes so I can see what is going on inside. I have some pyrex tubing comming so it will be interesting to see the clarity that provides, and resistance to some juices like cinnamon.

Is there any detectable difference in taste w/ the ceramic vs ss mesh?

None that I can disern, the ceramic does not lend any foul taste that I can detect. The only bad taste I got was the first 5-10 puffs when it burned off any production residue. Since then it is like using the SS.

I'm liking the sleeve idea better and better. I'm using cartomizer sock as a sleeve on my ce2 genisis tank mod now with good results.

Mjm. Do you find that the sleeve method helps increase the flavor?
The first genesis I made worked awesome. Then it broke, now I can't seem to get the flavor to pop consistently.
Some times its bam, then blah, ect...
Sound like a good idea.

There's no increase in flavor that I notice, but no Ill effects on the taste either. The sleeve simply lets me skip the oxidation burn and coil fiddling steps entirely as the sleeve is contacting the mesh, and the coil is contacting the sleeve, thus no shorting is possible. It does take the sleeve a bit of time to fully absorb but is doing well for me even with a ss wick that looks like a train wreck. It MAY be helping with wicking a little, it definitely is not hurting wicking.
