Nice video update 'weapon', I agree w/ 'quick', you're getting nice vapor w/o the cap, so it probably isn't the mesh/kanthal setup. Your vapor w/ the cap isn't too bad, just a little thin. Maybe plug the high hole w/ some tape and see what the lower hole does on it's own?

It's almost like it's shorting and tripping the battery pcb...but then I wouldn't expect anything at all./ ummm... it's pretty bad with the cap on. almost to the point of being sad... :)
 salt to the wound man...lol

Yea seems like its kickin pretty well until the cap. Definately no short, but I didnt think to check that, good thought quick. It HAS to be an airflow issue. My second hole is @ 0,93 (63) at the moment. I plugged the top and there definitely was improvement. Still needs some work...the only other two bits ive got are 0,98 (61) and 1.18 (56)...guess ill start with the 0.98 and see...

Weapon, you took a 13 second drag and got the vapor of 1/2 of a second with the cap off. Yikes. Just to make sure, the cap is clearing all the mesh and wires and such? Nothing is being pushed/shifted, if not shorting? And the driptip too? Before you drill too much, try the hole you have (the lower one) and the loose cap through the threads trick to see if airier is what you want.

Great vids Gerard, very interesting is that your wicks slide right in and then a needle slips right in too. This is quite good for wicking and a good balance to have. Also, you showed, but I couldn't read it, what's in that big bottle?

If you are using a protected battery I wouldn't rule it out completely. But that's probably not the problem.

Unscrew the cap and just sort of hold it on there. Tip it a bit or lift for a good size air gap and then just inhale. Try for just a little bit of resistance. See if you get a lot of vapor that way.

Hey All,
It's been a while. I've been traveling a while for work and spent a week at a conference in San Fran. So although I love my Hybrid I felt like I needed a stable pv for the conference. Plus taking my hybrid refilling syringe would not be possible in my hand luggage. So I recently bought a tank and liked it for a day. Then Got the crappy taste and gave up. But I found a bunch of new standard 510 attys and discovered how great just dripping with the ego T battery is. Now I wonder why I bothered with blue foam cart mods for so long.
Anyway, so I am back onto my hybrid again. The last time I experimented with it, I tried using the carto 'paper' and promised to report back with my findings.
Well I have to say, although it defeats the idea of no filler for wicking. It does certainly stop any shorting, wicks amazingly and the juice no longer darkens, looking nice and clean. Wrapping the kanthal is so much easier. Tastes great.
I shall continue to use it this way to see how long it lasts.

Thanks for the update, what 'carto paper' did you end up using?

I had a bunch of 510 cartomizers I bought a while back, so I tore one apart. Each one has enough paper to make 4 wicks.
It really simplifies the setting up.
Here's mine after sitting for 3 weeks.

So you're using the braided 'sock' from the carto?

No I tried that at first, but then tried the paper that wraps the sock.
I also get tonnes of vapor with the cap off, but not so much with it on too.
I still like the TH and flavor though, so it's all good.
May try the second hole soon, although it's not much better when I loosen the cap to test it out.
Here's a video with cap off and then vaping it.

Not only that, but they often (for first time buyers?) send extra sheets. Even more than the buy 2 get 3 :)

I received the mesh today, ordered 3 and received 6. Very nice :)

Took 14 days to receive it in WNY. Only issue is I ordered 3 different sizes and they're not labeled. Hopefully I can sort out the 200, 325, and 400 mesh.

I noticed something today when getting ready to reseal my ear sticks.. after resoldering the wires to make more room for silicone, I set the switch a little differently, thus making the positive silver wire shorter on top(7mm sticking out; was 10mm). Originally I had it longer. Luckily I never got around to clipping the negative shorter, so in theory I'm alright, although reversed from what everyone else has...lol

I could resolder another wire as I wait for my new tank I suppose, or just leave the positive wire shorter and the negative longer on top..

Well the coil could care less which way the electrons go.
