What about the steam cooling and condensation on the tank surface?

Even with the one I have now there is very little. If you do not leave the vapor sit in the chamber and draw it out, there is little residual. Only when the you end the draw before the button is released allowing vapor to sit in the chamber do I see condensation.
Hope that helps.

I still have to turn the cap and do some drilling for the power lead and make the standoffs and tube for the SS to juice path so a couple days. :(

I have 400 mesh I have 34 and 36 kanthal and some nichrome 60 from MV... I am getting good vapor about 1/2 the time. even when I get good vapor it seems burnt... the other half the time I get a torch, red hot screen(I pretty much know thats shorting on the mesh) ,or really nasty smelling so I know thats burnt and very little vapor and it will only keep up with the wicking for 15-20 seconds then its dry regardless what might I be doing wrong...Ihad some32 but it was a small amount and it was no better...

You could try running a needle down the middle of wick to open it up some, or even between layers to re-shape the center without really changing the construction. Also, having the loops of the coil farther apart increases the surface area of contact with the wick. Having 5mm or a bit more wick above the coil acts as a reserve too to avoid dryness. I don't think you are necessarily shorting, just too hot or dry.

thank you...I am under the assumption(correct me if I'm wrong )that when I get it right it can go steadily or is there a cut off point...I am trying to make sure I have it going good before I use good juice (flavored+ nic) in it...I have gallons of PG so I'm less concerned about it than my small reserves of flavoring and nic...

as to the wick its supposed to have spacing between the layers right?

Ok I Love my wife :)
Here is what I got done tonight...
View attachment 39923View attachment 39924View attachment 39925View attachment 39926View attachment 39927

Got the main body and tube done, I am drilling the juice passage way into the o-ring groove so I can plug it and the o-ring will help hold it on place. Providing a cleaner look. I also decided on 3 passage ways along side of the juice res @ 3/16" wide and 1/32" deep.
Ok the hard part is done... :)

to those who already have one I have a question which mesh wicks better the 400 or the 325

To me the 325 works better with thicker juice. The 400 works better with thinner stuff. My 50/50 mixes are awesome with 325, my 90%vg stuff works best with 400. Same resistance on both coils using 32ga kanthal.

Hope that helps :)

The pin through the center of the mesh does work really well to get it flowing again when the mesh gets clogged up after getting burnt, that's what I do too whenever the mesh wicking starts to slow down.

Once you are setup right you should be able to chain vape till you puke though... I've come close once or twice ;-)

I sometimes think a bubble of air gets trapped in there and slows it down. Taking out the fill plug and re-inserting so that juice gets pumped up the wick takes care of that.

For reference, Sturm can slip his wick in effortlessly in the 2mm hole and a .9mm needle slides in the middle too.
