I haven't tried it, but I know RadioShack has Silver Solder. Might have to give it a shot since I can't even get the kanthal to tin with what I have.

by silver solder. are you referring to silver brazing rod or is there something that is easier to work with?

RS's silver solder is very low silver content - didn't have a lot of luck on the nichrome or kanthal. Regular wire it works well. I started using tinning flux and it really helps - Lowes has it, not sure about Home Depot.

Hey Dan, if you get to the point that wick has had it in the v3, you could cut out the used part in the middle and re- oxidize the good parts and switch to the dual wick and coil setup. I've got a similar reuse plan for sequentially shorter genisis atties but I think I've only done it once so far.

Yeah have already thought of that and posted a couple days ago that the SCUBAGEN could be set up for dual coils very easily since it has two points of entry to the juice for the wick. Am working on my SCUBAGENv3 "XL" provari version and hope to have it ready for VapeStock. It will be a dual coil initially to test it out. Two coils at 2.2ohms a piece running in series at 5.25 volts would be 6.26 watts, and if on burned out I could drop back to 3.8 volts putting me at 6.56 watts until I could get the faulty coil replaced :) Cant wait to try hehehe..

I just bought a Provari, so I am of course extremely interested in this progress.

Well just got done turning and drilling the SUBAGENv3 "XL" provari version. Got the connector in it and wire run. Will and the coil connectors tomorrow and hopfully do a power on test tomorrow!
Here are a couple pics beside the ego version:

With the double wick, you don't think there will be too long of a wire for each coil? Going back to when we were doing the Genisis tanks and people were have trouble with glowing wires because it was too far from the wick. Just askin.

Not if he bridges the gap space with something other than kanthal...adds some complexity but the benefits may be enormous increased vapor production, let alone a backup config of losing a coil you can simply adjust the voltage and viola spare coil...the downside (if there is) is increased current draw(I dont know the capabilities of the provari as far as current limiting)

may be too much for it...I do know my Phaser mod MKIII got hopping mad when I first connected the genesis to it...I had to raise the current limits on it...(I had them at 3A)...
it wants to pull 4 1/2 from the batts for genesis atty use...(oops there goes battery life out the window)

And yes I am no longer having any problems...:headbang: WOW these things are cool.....Took a lot more fiddling than I expected...and having a working model set in front of me to figure out...using 400 mesh 2.5 ohm measured at the atty connector running 4.6v doesn't quite wick perfectly but I'm satisfied for now...(emphasis on now)

Pretty toy persis

Persis, it's great and the music made me cry. You are going to make me cry again by saying I can't get one from you!

I might suggest a twist-to-lock safety feature for the switch or some beveling to partially recess the switch, and just maybe that the sharp tip of the needles can be removed before being built in. The 15mm part is wonderful and I could easily overlook these two minor changes, if it weren't for all the tears!

This could be an issue, it seems that one lead of kanthal would have some distance for each coil. Easier would be to use the 'traditional' hole pattern in a genisis and put the 2nd wick in the fill hole with the wiring equally distanced in the middle and a 3/2mm aluminum tube to make the fill hole smaller.
