got a couple new atty's in the mail today. Blew them out, and checked them both with a couple drops to make sure they weren't DOA. Both were good so i went to remove the bridge from the one i intended to use.

When I pulled on the bridge the entire little array in there moved. I turned it turned. I'm new to this so am not sure how often that happens but anyway I slipped it back on the unit to see if it was still working. It was but it made a horrible taste.

I thought there might be some left over packing fluid on it. So I gave it a quick hot water bath burned it dry and started again. same nasty taste.

So I poked around a little and noticed the coil array wasn't seated all the way down in the atty once i pushed it down better the nastiness disappeared. I looked as closely at the cup as i could and saw no burnt looking evidence.

Now it seems about 1 out of 5 hits is sorta gross and the rest are fine.

what the hell?

Why would you want to remove the bridge?

Cause when im dripping I often get a hot metal taste from the bridge. And the juice sometimes sort of varnishes the bridge making it hard to change flavors.

That's interesting. I'm fairly new to dripping and I love it, but I have noticed that flavors tend to linger.

Other than your current problem, is it normally difficult to remove the bridge?

These are supposedly 1.5 - 1.7 and their from provapes whom I trust. I do think their burning the flavor out of my juice which is odd. they work real well on stock 510 but since it might blow up im my face im likely not to do that for an extended period of time. My taste buds are compleatly smoked at the moment everything tastes like ..... So ill just ease down the trial till i can feel my tounge again.

of course, I've got some flavors that just do not hold up at HV or LR.. (High wattage)

Some juices are just better, cooler.. By the same token, other flavors I have really sing when you drip them on a hotter atty.

Maybe thats part of whats going on? Have you tried this flavor on a "knowingly good" LR atty?
