hey, started watching youtube videos on vaping yesterday and did not get to sleep. I ordered a volt from smokeless image. i watched some more vids today ran outta smokes at 10pm and decided this evening i wasn't ever going to buy another pack. i've got way too many pack years to admit publically. i'm filled with regret, but moving on to the present and future -- I'm so done with them.

I figure in a few hours i'm gonna be going outta my mind. but its all good. I did pick up some lozenges for the time being. i'll try to occupy myself with more learning til my pv arrives.

preparing for my meltdown i realized that health canada (yes i live north of the border) would rather see me dead then vaping, and that my volt prob wouldn't get here soon enough for me. so i found a canadian site that sells bloog batts and carts and will have them shipped express.

my questions are ....

1. Is there anything better in a mini / cigarette sized form factor right now than the bloog/volt currently? By better i mean better / stronger / more analagous vape, that along with size and lasting at least 2 hours (longer is nicer but not the priority the other two are). The ego/fat batts/etc look way too big thick for me tastes. i'd like to get as close to 100s size as possible, no bigger. I thought long and hard about 510 with a LR atomizer/cartomizer but it seems that probably would not work as well due to more limited battery capacity of 180mah and lower running voltages?

2. The canadian Nic+ e-liquid vendor list is restricted to members who post in that thread ... i'm restricted to newbie post. if anyone can pm i'd definitely appreciate.

3. along the lines of 2, can anyone reccomend flavors (1 ppd Belmonts) for a newbie?

4. Anything else I need to know to optimize blank cartomizers?

Thanks.

Good luck with quitting smoking Clueless1! I've been using a Halo G6 kit for a couple weeks, and the batteries have been lasting me most of a day on a full charge so far, but I might also be a light vaper. I couldn't tell you if G6 batts and carts are better than Bloog/Volt or not, but from what I've been reading the bigger vaporizers produce better vapor than the cigarette style ones you and I are using. For now I'm keeping my G6 to use on the go/in public (because it looks so nice) and I will be buying a bigger better setup for use at home next month after the Christmas madness is done with.

As time passes, I'm sure you'll give in to buying something bigger for the eventually necessary features you will soon desire, such as variable voltage, tanks, battery life, and durability. As of yet, e cig designers really can't put an amazing product in an incredibly small package. If i were you, I would start investigating medium to big body mods, what specifications they can offer you, and cease with the prolonging of the inevitable. By that I mean if you see yourself vaping for the long term, I no one in my circle of friends who still uses a 510 standard battery as their go-to device, same goes for the kr808, or even the egos for that matter. Good luck, and I hope you have a change of heart, as I am certain that you won't be disappointed with some of the bigger mods out there right now, as they have so much more to offer as you advance from a novice to a more experienced and knowledgable vaper. Best of luck to you and keep on vaping!!!

Sounds like you have been doing your homework. Great choice switching from the stinkies to the vape! Just keep in mind that a pv is NOT a cigarette. When you get it you have to take a little time learning how to use it, the videos on you tube are great for beginners, and you have a whole forum of experienced people here to ask any questions you might have. Good luck with the mini and the juice, i'm sure you will work it all out quickly.

In my opinion vaping will take away your urges to smoke. If you meltdown don't beat yourself up for it. I took the advice here and smoked when I started vaping but tried to limit my cigarettes to a few per day. They tasted awful after 3 or 4 days of heavy vaping. I was a heavy smoker for 25 years who could have never quit on my own.

After 5 posts wait about an hour and post in the Canada forum. They may have advice on vendors that you can use.

Congratulations on putting down the analogs and welcome!!

You've made a great choice, you don't need a fat battery to start with. The Volt is a really good starters kit that many vapers stay with long term. Get to the Canadian forum after your 5 posts and find out about local suppliers. My only other advice to you is have a smoke! What's the point of going cold turkey now? It'll be so much easier when your kit turns up, don't put yourself through cold turkey now. Good luck!

Hi Clueless and welcome to ECF! I so remember when I first heard about ecigs (almost a year ago...between xmas and new year).....I did a google search and then found my way to youtube videos. I stayed up almost the entire night just watching them all...I couldn't believe that there was this awesome alternative out there and I hadn't heard about it! lol

There are some great reputable Canadian vendors out there and we'll get you hooked up ASAP! However, you first need to get your post count up above 5 before you are granted member privileges such as posting to other forums and sending and receiving pms.

Just curious, did you order eliquid with your purchases? If you've got blank cartomizers coming, you're going to need to fill them up.

Once you're post count is above 5, wait about an hour and then pop over to the Canada Forum and introduce yourself there. In the meantime, you might want to peruse the Canada supplier forum to get an idea of where you can go. Also, you can request a list of Canadian supplier via pm once your status has been upgraded.

Good luck and congrats on making the decision to switch over. This is a great community and everyone will be here to help you along the way during your transition and beyond!

Thanks all for kind words and encouragement.

I've ordered bloogs from happyvaper.com and juice from vapoursolutions. They are both ExpressPost so I am hoping they arrive tomorrow (which they should if posted today), or at least Thursday. FWIW I will post to compare delivery times as I ordered from both at exactly the same time (which means VS has a 1 hour head start due to time zone difference).
