Some thing odd about my reg LT

For some reason my LT full size will run a batt down past 3.4v. I normaly change the batt at 3.5v, but was running late and forgot. Ended up getting 1.5 days out of an AW 2000mah. It worked fine till the last hour, screen lit up but the letters were very faint and it fired with a some what cold hit. I checked the batt and it read 2.8v! What the hell? My LT mini cuts off at 3.4v for safty. I gotta remember to change that batt before work lol dont want to blow any thing up here.

You won't blow anything up..the charger shouldn't charge below a certain volt (as long as the safety feature is working ok) and from what I've been reading a lot of high drain batteries can be discharged safely to 2.5v. But going below 3.3 or 3v can shorten the battery life a bit.

Also even if it went below and all safeties failed it's more likely the battery would vent on the charger or right after being taken off than in the device..it can happen though but I haven't even heard of a vent in a LT yet...

I wont let it discharge that low agin. 2.8v is about as low as it would go for me. Made it till i got off work lol so i was lucky. Its just i thought LT's cut off way befor 2.8v my mini does.

Yeah I usually charge mine if I notice it's at 3.5v..I've only seen the screen flash at 3.3v 2x in more than a month of owning one. The 18650's last me usually a couple days as the LT isn't my only device I use..I still use my eGo's quite a bit and a couple 510 mega auto batteries..but I use the LT quite a bit still

My LT always cuts off and starts blinking around 3.1-3.2 volts.

My first few days, same scenario...didn't notice until the "cold hit" (nice term!) and my bat was at 2.7 - convinced my LT has no cutoff

Now I watch it like crazy!

My mini cuts off just fine(well my moms) Its a new red one. But i think your right on the cut off. Mine is a full size black one about 3 months old, as far as i can tell no cut off. I nomaly change um at 3.7 lol a bit over kill i know. But im glad this time it did not cut me off. I have back up's (x-power kit, echo-a) just don't carry them with me. The x-power is a 301d i think, but if ya play with it a 510 will work on it.

Isn't that the same as an 801?

i have no idea man. But a 510 boge will some what screw on(a lil cross threaded) and fire just fine. Its just a back up for me in case my LT dies. Untill i save up for a provari.(should only take 3-4 years lol)
