Ok so ive been vaping for around a month now and i think ive spent a little over 375 on juice and accessories in the past three weeks!?! And i cant stop myself from thinking i need more stuff!.. 'hey i could use an extra atty or 9 (when i have 5 back ups already)' or
'hey, even tho i have about 9 different menthols now.. and havnt even broke the seal on half of them. i wonder how these 3 suppliers make there menthol, ill take em!!'...
and 'hey, i have 6 batteries already, but shhhoooot, i could use another 2 (for what? i dunno)'

so im just curios, have any of you seasoned vapers (or anyone) gone crazy shopping in the beginning? maybe still?

im just trying to justify why i spent almost 400 on things that couldve of waited a while, and say to myself 'hey, this guy did it, now i dont feel so bad  and why i didnt buy a ps3 instead :D

but dam do i love vaping!.. NO REGRETS AH!

The first couple months you think you need a lot of stuff. I have been vaping for about 9 months now and i am just now getting to the point where i buy only what i need.

It just takes a lot of self control, adapting to a new thing, and a little planning for when you know you will be low on e cig stuff

Yes I believe we have addictive personalities, at least I know I do. But at least this one is by far the healthiest one to date. I too spent a lot finding what I like and yes made some bad purchasing decisions. But I'm still so far ahead with the money I used to spend on analogs. I think my spending will slim down as I have a chuck on the way and will be done ordering all the batteries that only last an hour or two. I found I love diy mixing but still like to try an occasional supplier juice. I have a ton of xtra new batteries and atties that I'm putting together into kits to try and help some others make the switch. I wish I would have started out with a mod then would have only had to worry about atty's, juice and some replacement rechargeables. Finding adapters late in the game instead of sooner could have saved me a fortune buying batteries and backups for different models. But heck I feel better, smell better and my kids are finally off my back about smoking, so in the end I feel way ahead in the game. I love vaping and the forum so I think this will be my last addiction! Best of luck to everyone and as always Happy Vaping!

Was 2+ pack of marlboro light 100's a days smoker, close to 7 cartons a month/50 bucks a carton that's 350bucks a month, Since i bought my cloud9 kit with 55 cartiage, just buy 250ml bottle of marlboro extra strenght juice for 100 bucks ( from myvaporstore) which should last close to a year.

BTW cloud9 is an excellent product and customer service rockz

Can use promo code: cmdryker get 5% any order, you will be happy, as I have tried 4 other ecigs, but the searching is over.:)

800 in 3 months, 2 diff modles, attys, batts, 2 pccs, 3 pts, no mods but i want one lots of juice my excuse, stocking up for a ban.
Brewster - Imagine how much you would spend on analogs today if you were stocking up on a ban for them. I can't count that high.

Starting off it is expensive, especially if you like me and have to try all the new high volt mods out there. But once you settle in to vaping the money drops well below what you would spend on cigarettes. I have several battery mods that I really don't need and that ... up. But I also have over 150 attys and around three liters of juice. I don't need to buy anything for over two years even with both me and my wife being chain vapers. If you break even with the cost of smoking cigarettes by the fourth month, you will be way ahead of the game in a year.

lol @ smokers/ex-smokers talking about having addictive personalities.... yup, i think we all have that one in common. ;)

i hear ya though with spending lots of $$. every time i find a new exciting hobby/toy, i go overboard and spend a boatload of money. my last one was lasers. yup, lasers. spent $600 of a bunch of parts before realizing it wasn't for me. lol.

trying to be a little more conservative this time around.. dont really have a disposable income right now.

Smoking cigarettes was easier.
A lighter or two and your favorite brand of smokes.

Here we are dealing with a ton of accessories :
The actual PV is the least problematic..
The atomizers, adapters, batteries, chargers, cables, cleaning accessories, pouches, boxes, different types of plastic and glass bottles, syringes, foams and filler materials...
Power packs, variable DC power supplies..multimeters and anything else that feeds the ego and the addictive mind.
Then again, you could always use Geiko to save 15% on your car insurance!

Part of it is just finding a device/juice that feels right. Once you're settled in you won't be as crazy with the shopping.

I think I've spent about $700 since last January - and I'm finally at a point where I think I can leave analogs all together - that works out to about $2 per day rather than the $4 per day I was spending on analogs - and, I have enough juice/attys/batteries to last me for the next 6 months easy.

When I think about all of the other things I've tried, this is actually cheaper in the long run.

Plus fun :) packages in the mail is like Christmas :)

I have spent $210 in 4 days just getting started. I tried to use these forums to research as much as I could before buying first PV. I know it's going to take a while to find what e-liquids I like though. And yes, even though I am not a big shopper type person, I know will I want something like a Janty V3 Stick set before too long, just because I work at my computer at home all day, but after that and I find what juices I like I think personally I will settle down.
My guess is, being that I was about a 2 pack a day smoker, if I buy the Janty V3 here soon, I should break even to what I would spend on analogs in about 3 months even if I am trying quite a few new e-liquids.
It sure is nice being smoke free for 4 days now though. I would never have accomplished that without e-cigs.
For me, I hope I don't get into buying a different PV every month and all that, although I can understand why people do, would be kind of exciting, like opening Christmas presents or whatever every month. I just want to get settled into 2 good devices, one for home and one for the go, and kick back an relax and enjoy the experience.
That being said, you can raz me in a month or 2 when I have like 4 PV's.

I'm extremely frugal (tight), so I'm not too worried about getting all wrapped up in over spending. Plus, I spent hours and hours on this forum learning from everyone elses mistakes. ;) I really doubt I will save much money over what I've been spending on analogs. I roll my own filter cigs at the price of less than $1 per pack. The original investment is going to run me around $125, but after that, I'll concentrate on one juice I can live with. After all, I haven't been switching tobacco brands.

I haven't started vaping yet - my first kit just shipped. I wanted to buy tons and tons of stuff - I had to be very stern with myself. I think it's sort of "I'm doing a good thing and saving tons of money in the long run and besides they're pretty and and what about mocha? Have to try mocha... and um cognac, and um....
I'm so incredibly grateful for these forums - I've learned so much since I first stumbled in, and it's helped me choose what I think will work best for me, and know what to try if it doesn't... and how in the world would anyone know how to fill carts and all that stuff without it?

$4 a day?? You must have been a half-packer because last time I got cigs for four bucks was back in '96 when I smoked Basics!

Yoinks. I keep forgetting what the rest of the world is like. Even upstate New York is extravagantly expensive compared to all points west of the Delaware.

So, yeah, full-size name brands (Marlboro 100s and Camel 99s) are over seven bucks here. We hoard company mailings and coupons though.
