Someone recomend me a good, bargain priced mod.

My preference is for something that runs on IMR 18650 bats because I already have a bunch. It doesn't have to be fancy. I like VV, but I'm not stuck on it or anything. I just killed a Lava Tube (Chrome), and I need a new mod to replace it lol. Somehow I managed to get juice down inside it. Don't know how I managed that o_O I don't really want to pay more than $100.

It's not that I don't like the LT, it's just I'm concerned about how easily I fried it with juice; I'm not a drippy vaper, I have no idea how I managed to flood the whole thing *facepalm*. So before I go out and buy a new one, I just thought I'd see what else is out there. I've still got my little 510 bats, which do work fine. The power is alright, not great. What's really killing me is the internal batteries. I got so used to being able to switch out the batteries and continue vaping on my favorite device. Now I feel like I'm juggling all the time.

What I don't want: A Provari, a Darwin, or anything that costs more than $100. I'm sure they're great devices, but not for me. Too expensive. I will not now, nor ever pay more for my nicotine habit than what my laptop cost. No way, no how. I also don't want any sort of Ego or clone; I don't want an internal battery.

Thanks guys.

Two of the best that are near your price range ($120) are the Silver Bullet with a Kick and the 5 volt GLV2. The GLV has a lifetime warranty and has a legion of fans. The Silver Bullet with the Kick (VV from Evolv who makes the Darwin) also has a legion of fans. Both are two of the best built PV's on the market. But I don't believe the GLV takes 18650's.

I think that the Kicked SB is a little more popular because you can buy it in pieces, and they function seperately. I owned the SB for 3 months or so before I dropped another 70 on the Kick+Extension.

On the other hand, I love my Kicked SB. I set the kick and don't have to mess with it. I'm really excited for when someone comes out with something that uses Evolv's DNA board...going to need a backup for my Kicked Bullet though, this thing can't possibly last forever, and I'm not that accurate with making coils for Penelope that I could use a fixed voltage mod. :)

Silver Bullet 84.99
Extension for 18650 and Kick 24.95
Kick 44.95
$154.89

Provari 159.95
18650 Extension 19.95
179.90

Not much difference really.

$180 bucks for a Provari on the cheap. I've seen many many mods for less than $100. That IS a big difference in price to me. I was quite clear that I don't want a Provari. Price isn't the only reason either. Vaporizers are electronic devices that have to be used with liquids. Things can go wrong with that. Like they did with my Lava Tube. I'm not going to shell out the money for a top of the line product like that. Especially when I found the quality of my LT to be perfectly acceptable. I'm certain I wouldn't know the difference in vape. I don't need something that fancy. I don't want something that fancy.

Here's a way to get a good set of 18650 devices within your budget - Kalamazoo vapor shop has the Chrome Lambo for $44.99 Lambo VV Tube Mod plus the Joye Ego 18650 3.7volt/regulated switchable for $21.99 JoyeTech eGo-T V2 Upgrade... . Total cost before shipping - $66.98 and you've got a new vv and a handy lightweight backup.

I think that may be just what I'm looking for. Simple. No onboard computer I'm thinking? I might just go with the Legacy. A reputable site I hope?

it's all mechanical, no electronics, just a bottom button that pushes the battery into touching the atomizer connection.

E-Power 14650. I know it doesn't use 18650 batteries, but it does use 14650 batteries: either ICR or IMR.

-One charged ICR 14650 battery lasts me for 2 to 3 ml of juice or 16 hours vaping time (all day long because I don't vape when I'm asleep).
-Regulated 3.7V. The vapor quality doesn't fall off as the battery voltage falls from 4.2 to 3.7V. I hate unregulated voltage drop.
-Maybe it won't last me a lifetime but it's worked for me since last November without a hiccup.
-sealed 510 connection.
-Nice selection of LR devices from 1.7 to 2.5 ohms to run with E-Power 14650. LR and regulated 3.7V is designed to perform the same as SR at 5.0V.
-people are universally impressed by the looks of this thing in stainless steel.
-Parts are available and cheap. So are back-up units.
-The batteries are inexpensive enough that a user can afford to buy a week's worth of them and charge them on a multi-bay charger just once a week.
-A spare 14650 battery is a lot easier to lug around than a spare 1000 mAh ego battery.

You can put a kit together with this for under your $100.00 mark and it's solid.

Take a look at the Smoktek Smokbox Varicool
My extensive review is here

If you want to be creative which I'll be doing.
I'll be going out tomorrow to find a covering for it. On my thread one person already referred me to a really cool coating.
Just because it's plastic to begin with doesn't mean it has to stay plastic.

I have a Provari and I like this unit better.
Once I customize the coating I'll be totally satisfied.
