Because it seems like I'm having to work twice as hard, and take a much tighter, longer draw, and still vapor is minimal. I mean, it still works, just not near to the level I was. It is impossible to go back to the carto I was using before, because I was trying to adjust my tank the other day, and the whole filler just came out, still attached to my pv, and the tank and carto sleeve slid off still attached to one another. First time that ever happened! Idk, I switched from punching my own boges to using prepunched smoktechs with a flanged bottom, and that first one was good untill the whole pulling out of the filler mishap

If you are using a fixed voltage battery and increase the resistance then you will get less vapor. Over time with repeated use a carto will become clogged which will start closing the air holes, making it harder to draw and produce less vapor. A new carto at the same resistance as the one you liked the best sounds like what is needed.

While you cannot dry burn cartos you can clean them to a degree depending on the symptoms. First I would check the air flow. Remove the carto from from the battery and try to take a draw through it. If the air flow is fine then try running warm water through it and then soaking in pure grain alcohol over night and then letting it dry for a day.

If the air flow feels restricted when disconnected from the battery the tube is probably getting clogged. You can try to fix this by getting some GUM brand Soft Picks and running it down the tube from the top and then up from the bottom.

Yea , I don't mind throwing cartos that don't work , out. Idk, I guess I'll just have to go back to some 2 ohms, and see if that does the trick. I would totally become a clearo type guy if it wasn't for the nasty flavor I get from my vivi nova. It's the only tank I've ever bought like that, and really turned me away

If you don't use tank cracker juices you might like the Evod.

I am also wondering if you have the real Vision Vivi Nova or the knockoff.

Do your Vivi Nova heads look like the ones on the left with flat heads or the ones on the right with pointy heads?

The left, I got the vivi when it debuted

Hmm, I wonder if they changed something in the v2's then. I have a Mini Vivi Nova all metal and have never had an issue with taste until the coils get gunked up, but a good cleaning and dry burn usually fixes that. If not then I change the head and it's all good again. As I mentioned before I like the EVods too. They are a bottom coil so give a cooler vape and slightly more airy draw. You can tighten the draw on those by closing one of the three holes too.

What is the issue with the flavor in the Vivi Nova that you have? Maybe with a better description we can help find a solution.

Yep - try a different carto. Please let us know how that goes. You might want to play with your watts a bit on the Zmax, though I can't imagine you'd need to increase those too much. It really sounds like your carto may have been overfilled and clogged somehow, or just defective. Please let us know how a different cartomizer goes and if you get the set up working the way you like.

I of course, cleared out the excess fluid, because it's not leaking all over the place. I really think, and have heard, that 3 ohm produces a tighter draw, and takes a bit more work to get a vape going on. And even at 11 watts, it's not sufficient for me

Flooding a carto can cause a problem. A 3 ohm carto shold not be causing a tighter draw. The ohms are just the resistance - and with the right temperature you should still get plenty of vapor. I've used 3 ohm cartos myself. I have noticed that its hard to draw from a clogged carto at any ohms. If you are running a 3 ohm carto at 11 watts your Zmax is putting out 5.74 volts. That is at the high end and close to the max for your pv. If you aren't getting vapor with that then its time to change the carto. I think this needs to be kept simple really - its really about getting the right carto - not flooding it, and having a good vape.
