For my STM mini rba plus, I built a twisted 30 kanthal coil 2.5mm dia and 4 complete wraps not counting the legs. It came out at 1.06 ohms. Vaped wonderful.
Then I tried double twisted 30 kanthal same diameter and wraps. Came out to 0.87 ohms. Not very great vape. It took longer to light up, and when it did if I ever got spitback it would burn wherever it landed inside my mouth (cheek, tonsil, etc.)
I thought that lower resistance took less time to heat up. Both setups, I ran at 28 watts. I'm going back to a single twisted coil. It was wonderful, but didn't look as cool as the double twist coil.
