Just My Theory.

When the Connection between the Atty and the mod is Flakey but still a Connection, the mod "sees" a Very High Resistance. But since the Resistance that the Mod can Calculate Watts to is Limited, because the Voltage of the Mod is Limited, the Mod sets the Resistance/Voltage to the Highest Value that is Possible.

Instead of the Mod throwing an Error Message saying that the Ohms are "Too High".

I could be Completely Wrong. And this Probably Doesn't apply to Every Mod out there. But that is what I Think my ipv Mini was doing before I Re-Soldered it's 510 Connection Wire.
I subscribe to your theory.

I don't think there is an issue with the tank, it's the mod.

Said his coil was snapped........ but then he also alluded it was still working. An interesting situation indeed. :?:

Longer Center pin is Less likely to be a problem than a short pin...........Unless over tightened, trying to force flush .
