Hi Johntacomo, I'll start by saying the VTC5 is a good battery but there are so few out there for sale, those that are available are either wildly expensive, or fakes. If you are just going to use the battery in your Vamo, then you just need an unprotected IMR or hybrid battery.

I personally don't use a battery with the word fire in it - I tend to stick to AW, Sony VTC4 or Samsung 25R. There are other brands out there that will do a pretty good job with your Vamo too - but you can find the Samsungs at about $7 each on Illumination Supply

Don't get too hung up on the mAh of the batteries as there is little real world difference between say a 2500mAh and a 28000mAh. Just make sure you buy an unprotected battery as the protected type have circuitry that will often interfere with your Vamo and you might get some glitches.

I'll leave it for others to talk about clearos, I don't use them much any more.

Intheshade nailed it - there ARE no VTC5's around. At least not easily found...but there are plenty of fakes.
And there are plenty of batteries that are perfect for you - a Samsung INR 20 or 25 would be super. Or an AW IMR.

I was basically happy with ProTanks, then moved off clearomizers. But a LOT of people love those Nautilus toppers. And I think there IS a steel tank for it. I know there is for the full sized one...(which should look fine on a Vamo!).

Welcome to ECF.

You definitely don't need vtc5s, buy something cheaper (but still decent) from a reputable vendor. For cheap, effective and portable, get the Protank 2 mini and an air flow control ring v2 (it's made for the Aerotank mini but I've got one on my PT2m - it just replaces the stock base). The PT2m, PT3m, and ATm share the same tank specs, and I seem to recall the steel tank being available. Oh, and the PT2m is available for $6-$12 these days, the airflow control for $4-6, and the steel tank should be under $5 (Fasttech has it for $2.85).

I don't have any experience with the 30S, but I found the iclear 30B and 16 severely disappointing, so I tend to steer away from their clearos.

Just to say. There are very few REAL VTC5s around. We currently have an issue in the UK with so-called "trustworthy vendors" selling fakes.

If you don't like a hot vape, then I wouldn't suggest iClear30S. It's on the warmer side than most. I agree with d4gger that the "B" range are disappointing too.

I don't like or use either of the v.3 Protanks (mini or regular).... I prefer the v.2 of both. Actually, I have 4 x v.1 minis.

If you want a GREAT tank (my honest opinion) go with an Aspire Nautilus Mini. They run single vertical coils, and the taste and vapor production are amazing for a tank. I used to run PT3 Minis and I hated them once I got my Nautilus and Nautilus Mini. Lots of sales right now, it's a great investment.

They also sell steel tanks for them along with a few design steel tanks. I run my Naultys on my MVP 2 @ 11 watts and it's a nice, cool vapor, and huge clouds (for a simple setup). I also run the new Atlantis on my IPV2S which is also really amazing.

No, the v5 is spec'd @ 5 amps max output, won't fire below 1.2 ohms (IIRC), won't fire a shorted atty. I use Panasonic NCR18650PF, 10 amp CDR in my Vamo's (have 4 of them), Sig Zmax, Evic, and Cana DNA30 for just less than a year.

Do Not Use Batteries With 'FIRE' in their name. Stick to brands like Sony, Samsung, Aw, Panasonic....

I don't use either, so no comment.

Don't know

do protank 3 mini's come in single coil?

I'd suggest the PT2 with an AFC base. Not a fan of Dual Coil Tanks.
