I bought 8 vtc5a's from nkon, 5 of which have the same markings that mooch had in his battery test, the other 3 have some additional markings and the wrap is more see through. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased vtc5a's that have the same markings or if they are possibly fakes. Im guessing that they could be a newer/older batch but im not sure.

Hmm...none of the factory or date codes match what's in the datasheet. They certainly could have updated the datasheet though if they added a different factory to the list.

If you were to unwrap one them, the VTC's have a unique set of dimples in the top contact, under the insulating ring. Do you have any other VTC5A's to compare their performance to? Or even 25R's?

i bought 8 from nkon, 5 look like what you had in your testing, 3 have the additional markings. I have 2 pairs of 25r's also for comparison. What would be the best way to compare the performance between the 2 pairs of vtc's and 25rs? Vape time with same coils on same mod?

Perfect. Use at least 50W per battery, 100W for a 2 battery mod, to force out any differences in performance. Or, if unregulated, use a .2 ohm coil or lower.

Using my IPV4S with 0.15 ohm at 107 watts 4.00V i just got through first set of batteries (ones with the extra labels).
The battery meter was showing a little bit left which is the same for the 25r's i usually use in it.
When i put them in my charger (efest luc blu6) they were reading 3.43v and 3.45v.

Moving onto the vtc5a's with no extra labels.

Using same setup got through the 2nd set of VTC5A's without the additional markings.
The battery meter was at the same level when i got the weak battery screen.
When i put them in my charger they were reading 3.41v and 3.43v.
Subjectively the vape time was about the same from both sets.
Ill try it out with a set of 25r's and see how it goes since i haven't vaped that high with them before.

I got Lost Vape Triade today. Is there anything i can do through escribe to test/check the batteries? Also ordered some battery wrap, once it arrives ill unwrap one to check for the dimples.

Escribe has the battery analyzer that is great for basic testing. It also helps to set up the DNA board to work best with whatever batteries you choose to use.
