Either one is an excellent choice as to battery life and juice each carto holds. Without geting technical, the major difference is the auto battery for the Echo and Manual for GO-GO.
The GO-GO has proprietary threads meaning you can only use GO-GO gear with other GO-GO gear. There are adapters that allow you to use the large GO-GO cartos with a 808 threaded battery and it works well. The adapter for the GO-GO adapter to allow 808 cartos and such on a GO-GO battery seem to be hit an miss (mostly miss

The Echo battery is natively threaded for the 808 so that's a plus (no adapter needed) but it uses a battery type that takes about 2 times longer to charge. In the end, both have their pluses and minuses but they both represent a move in the consumers direction: Long lasting batteries with cartos that hold approx. 3 times more juice than a regular 808 or 510.
