Totally 80's right?
Just the kinda look i wanted, this is just for the logo, once i decide on that I'll discuss with him the intro/outro for the videos.
Would love to hear what you guys think.

cheers

Frank 'n Vape is a retail eliquid. You might want to go with something else to avoid any potential conflicts with the juice maker.

@Javichu, I much prefer the graphic @smacuser posted. It has a very professional look to it. The graphic and colors totally "pop". The palm trees look like real palm trees. You could purchase the graphic via VectorStock. Or perhaps a similar design can be created from scratch via Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

I added what I thought might work... "Frank's Vape Show".

The text can be positioned anywhere but IMHO you do not want the text placed over the graphic. Placing the text over the graphic would make the overall design too busy. You don't want "busy". Ideally you want the name of your YT channel to be front and center. The graphic should only "support" your YT channel name.

IMHO......... the graphics should look professional. You want your viewers to take your channel and the content you post seriously.

Good catch with that, would have hated to get it up and running and then find out about this.
Thanks a bunch buddy.

Totally agree with you, loving the one you posted.

Still not sure about the ''show'' part at the end, will have to think about it.
Will talk to my friend on monday and send him a screenshot of this pic you posted and see if he can do something like that.
If he can't i will look over in Vectorshock, some seem to be cheaper than others, would have to get the expanded version so i know that all future use will be all done by me,other way its a bit of a risk if i just get the ''standard'',anyone else could use it.

The one in your post is 39,99,without the name or anything.T
hen i would have to find someone to make an animated intro/outro with it that includes my channel's name and then i also need one of these to go with each of my video:

icon.JPG

Small'ish type of logo, letters or something.

For now i still gotta work on the name, shame Frank'n'Vape was taken,oh well i just gotta keep on working on name.

Thanks a bunch for the advice buddy, much appreciated :)

Logo??? No problem Bro. Here are some idea's. For now I'm still using "Frank's Vape Show".

#1 very conventional - almost too much so for my liking

logo2.jpg

conventional sized small (for video) - the logo can be made smaller

logo2sm.jpg

#2 something more stylish - it has a very smooth flow and ease about it

logo1.jpg

sized smaller

logo1sm.jpg

#3 something non-conventional -- but it would totally work -- design folks utilize reversed characters all the time these days

logo3.jpg

and sized smaller

logo3sm.jpg

I just went with straight-up B&W so you would have some idea's. The black circle can be any color. Your logo can be any shape, it doesn't have to be a circle. The logo shape could house a photo or a design. However, a photo or design would make the logo busier. Much can be done with a logo.

Of the above logos I prefer #2. I think it has a certain flair that grabs ones attention (but that's just me and what I like).

Dude!!

Thanks a bunch, those look very cool, the last one where the letters are turned around looks very nice, loving that one.
Wasn't a fan but Frank's vape show is starting to grow on me lol, saving the last little one you did, wondering how it would look with some neon like color in it *whistles innocently*

About to do my first purchase for my Youtube setup, flash sale on a mike which is entry level but good enough for me to start, the Cardioide TONOR Modelo TC30,down to 26,19 euros from 54,99 so yeah its a good deal.

Reading reviews like a crazy man because at the moment there is only 1 hour and 18 minutes left but i think i am going for it.
I'm all excited and stuff, can't wait to get it all set up and record my first video.

Wrote down some ideas for the first video, just a small intro of me and my vaping habits and devices i use at the moment.
After that video then i will start with the proper reviews, still got a long way to go but I'm pumped!!

Thanks again buddy for taking the time to make those, got me up to 50/50 on the name Frank's Vape Show ;)

You're welcome Mate!!!

I have more suggestions and ideas......

IIRC you did radio, yes??? So you know how a studio functions and you know audio.

Create a storyboard template for your videos. A storyboard is the "flow" and your "guideline". You know... intro with music and your logo splash screen, that should have a fade in to your introduction, a product intro, the review broken down into segments, your overall thoughts in closing and then your closing credits should fade in with or without music. You'll figure it out.

Type your vape reviews out as scripts. Purchase a low cost teleprompter software program for your PC. Then when you shoot a video review, set your PC monitor behind your lighting, mic and camera so you can easily read your "script" on the teleprompter (your PC screen). But... you do not want to look as though you are reading your script. Do your best TC and memorize as much as you can. The teleprompter is there should you momentarily get stuck. It needs to have a natural "flow".

I don't remember if you already posted which microphone you are going to use??? There are many low cost quality blogger type mics available. I mean, you know, you want the audio to sound professional too as you had in radio. There are free audio applications for smoothing over spikes and transients in your recorded voice.

Make sure you find and use a suitable background. The last thing you want people to see in the background is your bed and all your stuff or your kitchen stuffs.

If you manage to get all that squared away then your videos would look, feel and sound very professional right from the get go. You Sir would totally be stylin'.

Ok let me see cause i got a ton of sticky notes in my desktop plus a couple word files with all the info i got together.

-About the radio experience, yes i did work in the radio and as a dj for a long time.
For my first introduction i wrote a kinda of a script, just some guidelines that i would follow but to be honest even when back in my radio days some used scripts i never bothered and just winged it.
Thing is apart from working in the radio and as a dj (and 2 regional tv comercials for a brand of water and then a brand of rum hehe) all my jobs have been all oriented to talking to people.
In real life i can basically strike a convo with anyone on the street like waiting in line for the ATM or the bakery, always been an extrovert so the part about speaking and filming the video is the least of my worries,i got that covered.

For the reviews yeah i will follow a classic template, something like:
-intro
-my presentation with a hi to everyone,a comment or two about vaping or none vaping things (short thou, don't want to linger much)
-Start with the brand and the device i got for review purposes (or bought),some comments on the brand and my previous experience with them.
-Cut to over the top unboxing,go thru all the unboxing procedure, put the device together, decribe its main features, then set it up to start vaping.
Prime coil or set it up with a coil and cotton if its an RTA/RDA,fill with e-liquid.
-Cut again to face view and proceed to test out the device and give my impressions about said device and the way it feels.
-Small comment about me saying if i recommend it or not and what would be the ideal target audience for the vaping apparatus, like a pod or disposable for new vapers,RTA more complicated for people who already have some vaping backround etc etc.
-End up with a thanks to everyone for watching,sub/like if you enjoyed my content then a goodbye and cut to the outro animation and all done for the day.

Will learn to do these steps but script wise like word by word i don't think i will do that, will take me some tries to get back into my radio groove but once there i think i will be ok.
I will memorize the basic info about the device, like for example if its a drop in coil tank i will write down and learn the various type of coils it can use, other info like dimensions etc etc,i don't want to look like an amateur and forget those when I'm talking.

About the editing program i still have no idea, tried one the other day (it was DaVinci Resolve i think) its free and i wanted to just see how it all works, couldn't really do much since my pops wasn't in a good mood/feeling well so i had to leave my room like 20 times that day to be at his beck and call.

Don't think editing will be much of a problem, time consuming? yeah but i am not going to have that many cuts to edit and no weird effects either (for now) so i am not too worried about that.

Getting the gear to start the videos is a headache thou,so many different types, lots of reviews, videos to watch, compare prices....gee that is the worst part.

That looks really cool, and I rethought it, you should go with Frank Vapes.

You know the definition of Frank:

    adjective

    1. open, honest, and direct in speech or writing, especially when dealing with unpalatable matters (i.e. negative reviews).
      "a long and frank discussion"

Frank Vapes is a good one.
2 words which does it make simple to remember, there is no channel with that name, just checked.
On the con side like @Letitia it wouldn't leave room if i ever decide to post about something else.
    But i do like it.

I like it! I'm leaning towards Frank's Place, leaves the door open for a variety of options. Vaping, cooking, informal interviews, etc.

Already some channels with that name, low subs but i don't know it feels wrong to have the same name.

    meh.JPG

But i do like the idea of a channel name which leaves room for different topics, geez didn't know this was going to be that hard hehe.
Racking my brain all the time trying to come up with something.

Friend just sent me this a minute ago:

I think it looks good, its 720p thou not sure if that is enough or it should be 1080p to use as intro/outro.
Watching it full screen it doesn't look that good, will talk about it with my friend later on,see if it can be done in 1080p
Apart from that I'm missing some sort of music at the start, maybe its just me and its good the way it is,short and concise.

So here i am once more bothering you folks.

Well the tripod i got was way too big for the space i have so i had to look into another, waited for the refund from Amazon that came in today and i ordered a smaller tripod which should work for me,lets hope so.

Anyway,i was at my friends vape shop today (the one that did the intro and logo for me) and we were both talking about the channel name,he said he had a feeling it was a tad long and yeah i gotta agree with him.
He said he doesn't mind a redo if i wanted something shorter, does seem better suited...Frank's Vape Paradise just seems a bit long, looking for just a 2 word combo simple in nature.

I know i want Frank or Frank's,even Franky or Franky's (Franky was a nickname from an Irish gf i had way back in the day).
Just need one word to go after Frank/Frank's/Franky/Franky's,so here i am bothering everyone again, going to tag a whole bunch of you and if you come up with that magical word I'm in dire need then go ahead and post it ;)

    @hittman @Daniel Forsyth @Frenkyou @Letitia @ShowMeTwice @pt91 @DPLongo22 @Nailz @chanelvaps @Tor R @bigbob2322 @Pigs @AngeNZ @gloopdegurp @Z-Lee @englishmick @Fidola13 @ShamrockPat @somdcomputerguy @zoiDman @DavidOck @Izan @HyDrOpOnIc1987 @FranC @dreamvaper @440BB @Fredman1

So far i got nothing,i did think of Frank Vapour (Vapour instead of vapor) kinda gives it an exotic feel to it but yeah still not sure about that one.

Off to wait for the plumber, getting a new water heater today so i gotta be ready, took me a long time for those guys to finally commit to a date.

Hope y'all have a great day and thanks again for putting up with me and my ramblings hehe.

Hey there Jav, I JUST noticed the tag. This is so awesome! I'm VERY happy for you! :)

I love the name Frank 'n Vape as well. Remimds me of something I would make lol

This sounds like it will be a really fun adventure for you. Just make sure to keep some time for yourself too. Don't wanna make yourself so busy that you're running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Especially since you have to still look after your father. :)

I can't wait to see what you come up with though! I'm sure you'll have us all laughing and learning at the same time :)

Edit: i like the 3rd logo! Reminds me of something from either an old Tron game, or something you would see on GTA Vice City. Really cool that your local vape shop owner was also a GFX Designer! Love hearing about how helpful fellow vapers can be!

Second Edit: @hittman is right, youtube is VERY anti-vape and if you use the word vape you WILL get some kind of issues. I am into dry herb vaping because of medical needs, but even though marijuana is legalizing all over, dry herb vaping channels have been getting attacked JUST as hard as the nic vaping channels. They REALLY hate tthe word Vaping. Frank's Reviews may not be as catchy as Frank 'n Vape, but you wont be at risk of having your channel suspended or deleted.
