you know ..

i like the concept of e smoking .. puffing, vaping .. whatever it can be called.

BUT i don't like the inconsistency of the product.
the atomisers ALWAYS dying, depsite my attempts to clean them, soak them in alcohol, squirt them with air from a can ..

i DON"T like mixing and i am finding it really hard to keep finding a throat hit...

don't get me wrong, i have had "professional" help. jack from happy vaper showed me what i need to know.

its just hard to do this DIY thing. really ....

so .. question .. does any Canadian company carry a cartomiser (besides epuffer)

i am hoping to find one that will fit my 901 battery. (*crosses fingers and toes*)

Cartomizers don't naturally work on a 901 battery as there needs to be more air flow.

I have to agree with you about Jack. He simply has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced!!!

I think your problem with the atomizers is that you are trying to hard. I know I did the same thing at the beginning trying to keep them clean and functioning. What I found was, if you do nothing but let them drain on a piece of paper towel over night, they will be good to you.

You can also use the blue foam plug which will give you the closest feeling of a cartomizer, but on your 510. I found that using this cart mod, one cart lasted as long as one full battery charge.

Hang in there. It will get easier.

I've ordered parts for my 510 from TW and Healthcabin, and all have been reliable. I don't fiddle with them except for one time: i cleaned one atty (because it acquired a somewhat bitter taste) by running some water through it and gently blew on it until dry.

Maybe i'm wrong, but i can't help reading "because of" instead of "despite".

<<< totally satisfied by the consistency of the product :)

If cleaning them isn't working for you then you probably should not clean them.
I don't know the percentages, but I think more than half the people don't clean them.

But if you DO want to clean them, then you probably should stop using canned air.
I've heard that can break the atomizer coil if not done properly.

And you definitely want to let them dry fully before using them.
They won't work if they aren't dry.

If you need them in a hurry put them in an oven at 150 degrees for 20 minutes.
I rotate two of them and clean every week, so they always have a week to dry out.

And you definitely want to prime them with more drops than usual the first time after cleaning.
I find that mine will take as many as eight drops before they start working again.

Maybe you should give the Vapor King from Vapor4Life a try. I know they ship to Canada, and they are reliable with great flavor and a really good throat hit. The customer service is top-notch and if you refill the cartomizers, it's very cost-effective. I absolutely love my VK e-cig and I've been off the analogs for nearly 6 weeks now, after 37+ years of heavy smoking.

I don't understand why so many people are willing to put up with the unreliable 3-piece e-cigs when there are much better alternatives out there. I totally get that it's a fun hobby - and I'm thinking of getting a 510 next because I love to tinker and I'm curious - but if you're having difficulty with a 3-piece and you're new to vaping, you may jeopardize your efforts to stop smoking if you don't try something more user-friendly before you walk away in disgust. Some people just want the blasted thing to work without having to fuss with it a lot - and people who are trying to give up cigarettes are a bit edgy to begin with. Why torture yourself when it's not necessary?

I would strongly urge you to check out the V4L sub-forum. You'll see fellow Canadians on there who can advise you.

` whew ` looks like you said this in a way that my frustrated, nicotine deprived mind couldn't say. i did check the site and it's awesome.

i had a "sneak peak" of what cartomiser was all about from sean at e puffer awhile ago. his ECO did match up with the 901 battery. what can i say, always trying to use what i have and not go out and buy more stuff!!

so .. i am going to keep vaping on my e cigar until i can get the funds together for something from the v4l site. looks like that might be a nice addition to what i have now.

still practising with the mixing and the DIY stuff... the only flavour that worked was the fried bacon .. seriously .. soooooooooo tasty....

Get a 510. Your problems should soon disappear :)

the problem still exists with dripping the mixture. i am visually impaired. makes it difficult to do that properly. i got a e cigar from jack at happy vaper. LOVE IT! still planning on using it.

i got it as it has a REALLY long cart. i figured if i could see it, this process would be easier. put that together with a strong attempt to to the DIY thing, which only found me one result. but it wasn't consistant. it literally was trial and error. which frustrated me even more cuz i wanted to be the e smoker that everyone else here is ...

going to non smoker with the e cigs has been truly challanging.

i think that once i get the hang of just being an e smoker, i may look at other products. i understand the main fault to the 510 is the battery charge. you literaly have to carry a charge case with you at all times.
of course that is the case with MANY batts out there.

the great thing about the e cigar is that this isn't an issue. the batts last for a longer time, and the hit is really good. WHEN i was able to get the dripping issue figured out i was vaping italian fried bacon at an 18. that only lasted for about a day, but it was really nice. and i want to get back to that again.

i am about to find out the quality of the cartomiser.

if this doesnt work, i don't know people. i really want to do this.

there just seem to be a lot of obstacles in my way.

i have read that some people have similar frustrations.

for example, when i was out with a manual batt, it broke 5 mins after leaving the house. not being strong enough to fight off a cig, i grabbed a pack almost right away. i had just had it with everything.

everyone keeps telling me to stick with it. so i am. ` sighs `

now, that being said. i like the idea of mixing. i have a feeling i may have to take more time with that. who knows what other kit i will get. from what i see here, it looks like a great way to be successful with each purchase.

thanks for the ranting space. and to any moderators out there, if i should have made a blog post instead of a thread, let me know. i am still learining some of the social norms of the group .... ` snickerzz `

I don't know I think you just have to get reliable stuff - I'm still on my same setup on the same atomizer was using 3 months ago and the most I ever have to replace is an inline batt on my USB passthrough.

With regards to throat hit - try inhaling straight to the lungs....
