Also could be that you don't have a great atty (is it a Joye, or one of the Clones with a washer ring inside of it?). Clones can vape poorly.

Just wondering where is this washer you speak of, Not sure if I have a clone or not. Is it inside or on the screw in side?

I just wonder b/c I get various results with my 510, Sometime i get sick vapor, other times its been weak.

Sorry not trying to take over the post or anything, you can PM the info if need be

To the OP, Try checking out some of the cart mods that are laying around the forums, such as the PTB mod or the BFD. These are far better fillers for your carts that will allow better flow to the atty and better vapor for you.

jdl, i did the same exact thing you did man. Went to the mall, bought the expensive crappy version of an ecig.(fifty-one trio) and then found this forum. Then i gave up smoking and had the 3 worst days of my life trying to get by with the 51 trio(but i did) and ran to the mall, got more carts(12) and came home and did serious research. decided on the joye 510 starter kit from LiteCigUsa.net. ordered some juice with it and also 5 more blank carts, and an extra battery and atomizer. now i don't crave cigarettes at all :) So go order the 510, then when you get it show it to all of your friends who smoke. You'll def find atleast 1 person who does. Then sell them your mall kiosk bought starter kit. and BAM! ur back in the game baby!

I should probably order the blue cart filler. Maybe the poly fill isn't wicking the juice to the atty very well. I seem to be topping it off quite regularly. Is that normal? I tend to vape a lot during a few short minutes. I hope the atty isn't dieing. I should stock up on atty's. I've only got two and the other one isn't producing any vapor even though the cart is full. Both batteries seem ok.

A 510 uses lots of liquid. I'm topping off after each vaping session and adding a drop to the atty. If that is all you have around, I suggest getting a few extra attys and batteries. Terri has provided a great supplier (Chad at Ecigsupply.com - I know and use him as he is local to me. Great prices and terrific customer service.).

New attys/bats may help you pinpoint what the problem is. Most likely though, the problem is that you need to use more liquid?

I can also recommend AquaClear aquarium filter material for a cartridge mod. FAB stuff and I use it in both my 510 and 801 atomizers. Wicks great and no straw or other baloney needed. I buy the size 70 block of it from PetCo. The blue foam I found to crumble and make pieces of it down inside the atty. I won't use it.

There is a picture of the ring in the bottom of a clone in this post: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/54478-l2-510-clone-8.html#post821596

While a good replacement for the cartridges can help, I don't think this is the problem for the OP. She just needs to understand that a prefilled cartridge isn't good all day. She just needs to use liquid after each vaping session she has. Finding out what model she has will get her some additional help on the forum.

yeah i need to check that out but i just spent $150 on my starter kit

I hear this a lot... people see me with my eGo/Tornado and say "Oh, is that one of those e-cigs? Gosh those are so expensive!" then I direct them to one of the vendors I trust or here...

I've seriously considered setting up shop here in a storefront to sell Genuine DSE901's, Joye 510's and the Janty eGo/TORNADO... and maybe some mods (i.e. Prodigy, Chuck). I myself wanted a physical store to go to when getting started but you just can't compete pricewise with online retailers because they don't have to pay storefront rent.

Wow. I'm glad you're not my friend.

JDL, you can go back to the mall and try to return it or use it. It's not ideal and it was definitely overpriced, but it works. Don't forget, you didn't buy a diamond. A PV is not forever. These are batteries, metal tubes, glue, etc. Even the best ones will break down eventually.

You already learned how to change the way you inhale to get more vapor. Add liquid to the cart (it should be pretty damp at all times). And, by the time it begins to break down in a couple of months, you'll have done your research and found a less expensive one that works better.

xdunlapx, I have the same problem. The straw mod definitely helps. Also try pulling the wick out a little (or all the way) and making sure the whole thing is wet. (When you start a new wick, pull it out, put a couple of drops in the bottom and then put the wick back.) Once it's damp, capillary action will help.

I'd be willing to bet that the mall kiosk told JDL that one cart equals one pack of cigs. That is the lie they are taught. $150.00 dang. You could probably get 3 510 starter kits for that.

You're probably right Wolf... I remember the days when even some of the vendors here on ECF would say the same thing. So not true.

Thanks for all the great advice. I should've found this place sooner. Oh well live and learn. I will keep using this product. I just gotta get some carts quick

You'll learn pretty quick that you've always gotta have supplies hanging around cause you never know when a Battery/attomizer is going to go bad or when you're going to run out of juice. I always equate it to running out and buying a carton when I hear the weatherman say there is the likelihood of a blizzard coming. Only thing with PVs is that it's not like running to the gas station :)

You said you had a bottle of liquid. Pull the mouthpiece out and look at the bottom. It will be filled with something that looks like pillow stuffing (except that it will be stained with the liquid that you've already vaped.) That's the wick. It should come just to the edge of the mouthpiece. If there are loose pieces sticking past the edge, trim them off because they're nasty if they burn.

Shake your bottle of liquid and drip it on the wick a couple of drops at a time. When it's completely wet, take a tissue and clean off the sides and dab off any that's puddling on the top (if you had a manual battery, you could just drip the excess, but with an automatic, you run the risk of ruining it.)

Put the mouthpiece back in and you're good to go.

JDL,
First off welcome, there is no better place than this. It sounds to me like the model you got is a supermini. It probably is about the exact size as a regular cigarette. These typically hold .25ml of juice. the mini, like a 510 is about .5 ml and a penstyle is about 1ml. everything else is also proportionate to the three main sizes, battery, atomizer, cartridge and vapor production.

to fill most superminis yourself you will have to push out the little resevoir inside the cartridge/tip. If you drip juice all the way down to where it is inside some may go between the resevoir and tip and end up in your mouth when you draw on it. use a paper clip or something in the little hole at the end and push it out the top. find a lot of vids on youtube for refilling carts.

vapor production aside from what else has been posted here also depends on the juice itself. Even some brands produce different amounts of vapor. Prefilled carts are usually pretty weak.

Don't give up on the little guy, it's only doing what it can.

Congrats on joing the vaping community and best of luck!

As far as ordering from China, most of them use PayPal. I do not like PayPal. and shipping costs are outrageous as well as delivery time. There are many good suppliers here in the States. Spend some time looking at all you can find and you will find good deals and get products delivered in three days or less in most parts of the country by usps priority. $4.99 usually vs $15 from China.

If you need juice fast, you are in TX, there are a few suppliers in TX and neighboring states. If you order from them first thing in the morning and use ups ground you will probably get it the next day if they ship it the day you ordered it. I live in IN and ups ground delivered next day from WI. I get usps priority shipments from CA, NV, PA and NY in 3 days.
