For those who didn't know it, House Speaker John Boehner is a smoker.

Let's all bombard him with news and studies on the benefits of e-cigarettes over analogs and maybe we can get him to make the switch. There can be no better advocate for the future of e-cigs than the Speaker of the House (unless we can also get Obama on board.)

I don't know if he's actually tried them yet, but I do know that he has been sent several as gifts by different news anchors and TV show hosts.

I read once that someone handed him one, but they did not state if he actually tried it. I would think yes.
The problem I see with the politicians is if they would really stick their neck out over anything which could become controversial.

Likely true. Maybe after a bit more exposure in the media (TV shows, movies) ... that kind of exposure, making vaping less mysterious and acceptable, could lead to (eventually) being publicly endorsed by those in power.
