has anyone else experienced these when they started vaping? They've both been an issue for me for about a week. I'm a little over 3 weeks into vaping with zero analogs.

I don't *think* dehydration is an issue as I'm drinking about a gallon of water a day on top of any other fluids.
Aside from the vaping / no analogs situation, everything else has been pretty much the same as far as sleep and diet goes.
I'm not missing the analogs either and still very happy that I'm vaping instead.

The fatigue happens in spells, not all the time. I'll suddenly feel extremely sleepy headed and sluggish for a while.
Also, I don't want to use the word "depressed" but I'm experiencing a sort of blueness /anxiety in spells too. This isn't really the norm for me.

It seems the most logical thing to do is step down my nic and see if that makes a difference, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Absolutely! It's very common...you might even experience flu-like symptoms also. Three weeks is one of the pivotal times for vapers.

I wouldn't necessarily step down on your nic, it's just the effects of coming off of 3-6000 chemicals that were in analogs. Just be kind to yourself, and try and work through it.
It gets better ;)

Thanks that does make me feel better. I think maybe the fact that it seems to happen in "spells" had me concerned that maybe it was too much nic. 2 weeks of vaper's tongue and this. UGH! I know it's worth it though and i still do not want an analog!

You guys are great.

Hahaha yeah maybe the $$ I've spent has contributed a bit too.

Thankfully the taste buds are back fully as of today! Has 2 days of kinda "touch and go" flavor after almost 2 weeks of no flavor at all, but now I'm better! That was a drag!

I posted this in another thread. There are maoi effects with analogs. It takes a while for your body to balance out serotonin. I'm convinced that the hollow feeling that nic alone can't take care of is due to a chemical imbalance that only time can heal. Or antidepressants but that is not something I would consider.

It took me a month to shake it. Everybody is different too. Some people are prone to those problems even if they never smoked. You're doing excellent. Odds are high that it will all come together soon and you will be vaping away happily without the hollow feeling.

Same thing happened to me. I did look into WTA liquids and got some. It helps. Not all day, every day, I'd go broke. lol I just vape some when I feel...foggy. Some days more than others and sometimes not for a week or more.

I'm definitely going to check this out. This would contain the MAOIs? Makes sense.

Yeah 1st week and third week were the toughest for me also. Couple of times during that third week I said, "well one won't hurt." Didn't do it but I was thinking about it. I slept a lot the first month I quit, but felt fine during the day normally. I will say that I haven't been that motivated to go to the gym since quitting, but I'm not all that sure that is related to quitting smoking as much as it is related to summer winding down.

Anyway, best of luck to you.

Thank you! I think the weird part is that I'm not having nicotine cravings and I'm not tempted to pick up an analog, so the other side effects are more pronounced. Need to read more an the MAOI. I only have a general understanding. About to get "expert" :)

I don't know how long you have smoked
I did for just about 30 years
If you ever tried to quit before apart from eciggs
I'm sure you've noticed a lot of ups and down mentally Its a big change
they say nicotine messes with the serotonin levals (I don't know the specific's)
I will tell you I went through withdrawal when I stepped down from ciggs to ecigg also( I did not always want a cigg wile felling withdrawal)
So clearly the body was effected from other chemicals as well

So after so many years of taking in chemicals and our bodies adapting to take that in and use it to function
there I think would have to be an effect like that

I felt like that on and off for first few months Its normal I would think

No, not at all. It's whole tobacco alkaloids. There are pros and cons. I did a LOT of reading on it first. After 35 years of smoking something was missing and it wasn't just nicotine since i was getting that.

You don't need that it will pass and you'll be glad you didn't later on

hydration is a importent point.
a gallon a day?
do you way over three hundred pounds?
seems like your over hydrated.
a gallon a day is a lot for a normal sized person.
regards
mike
Actually, I drank a gallon a day when I smoked. I drink about a gallon and a half now.
you DO have to make sure not to drink just before going to bed.... ;)

Yeah, it's a potential problem but the severity of it can vary a lot, from no problem at all to feeling moderately depressed. Your body has to get used to not getting a lot of crap it was used to from smoking. Some of "that crap" includes trace amounts of MAOI's (antidepressants). Overall, quit smoking blues hit harder for people with depression or a tendency toward depression. It will pass - I felt "it" for nearly 6 months when I quit, with decreasing severity as you go. But it wasn't anything so severe that it needed intervention.

The other thing I noticed was the difference between me on smoking and off. I turned into a much more emotionally level person, not flying off the handle any more. I didn't realized just how "jacked up" I could get from smoking until I quit. I like the more mellow me now.
