well its safe to say im totally sick of all of this now. i have looked well into vaping and the best methods yet every single tank ive bought spits and gurgles. i went to a vape store and met some of the most canny, clued up fellows trying to help me out. the guy set up my maganus dvc... gurgles spits. i bought a new aspire cleito... gurgles spits. i have had 2 subtank nanos.. both gurgle and spit ond both leak. have bought 2 subtank minis... both gurgle and spit. i swear im doing everything right, priming the coils fine, doing this that. my vape isnt silly either.. i take nice slow draws and dont push the tank over the edge. literallyt nothing has worked for me and its cost me over 300 quid, 350 to be more exact. im ready to stop all this now and just smoke tabs on nights out.. i thought i had a chance with vaping but it seems as if someone somewhere doesnt want me doing it. can anyone suggest anything before i totally give up and accept the fact ive wasted 350 quid. honestly its not me. ive done everything possible to try and sort it out, clearing out my attys, building my own coils, using the correct wattage i could go on for days with what ive tried. :( very unhappy at the moment.

all i want is i nice smooth clear airy draw but i cannot for the ****ing life of me get that. i speak to loads of people i know and no one has these problems. the guy in the shop couldnt believe it, he gareed id been doing veerything correctly and seemed clued up enough. he is using an aspire cleito in the shop and i had a go of his and no gurgling or anything. infact i bought the exact same setup as him.. a kbox 200. and cleito with the same juice he was using. (grape drank 85vg/15pg 6mg nicotine). i noticed high vg juices clog up quicker but still with the lower vg (50/50 is what i prefer) i have problems.... Assembly errors.....Tanks gurgle and spit because they are not air tight.

OR, your drawing way to hard on it.

Dissasemble 1 tanks....Pick one. Put a fresh coil in it nice and tight and re-assemble the tank. without hitting the button or putting any juice in close off all of the air intakes and take a hit without pressing the button.....You should draw a vacuum on you tank.If you do not you have an air leak.

Solve the leak and you solve your gurgling and leaking problem.

(I had a problem with the Nautilus tanks and the Innokin XI. I was replacing them on the battery. When I did that the coils were not fully seating and they leaked like a Democratic Budget.)

Well....

Schnitzel sticks....

Ok, next area to play in will be your power settings...What are they on and what are you vaping them at....I now use a Kayfun Lite at 14 watts....but vaped for years at 9-10....always got gurling at 8 watts....And horrible flavor below 12.....(Took me a while to catch on though.)

in my maganus im using clapton triton coils 0.5 ohm at 40 - 45 watts. my cleio 40 - 60 (0.4). i have a 1.2 in my subtank mini which i run at around 15 - 18 watts. mind you ive been though packets of coils and also built my own to no avail. hahaha. im a special case to say the least, even the lads in the shop said. they all agreed i seem to be doing everything correctly. i mean im not saying i am but i really do think i am. the only time i had a tank full which didnt gurgle was my subtank mini at 16.5 watts with a 1.2 ohm kanger coil using Carolina blend 50/50 from gingers e juice. that cost me a bomb thru vat but its the best liquid ive had to date. im using n 85/15 juice atm so maybe the high vg content is causing issues.. oh and the 1.5 kanger coil in my nano tank worked spot on.. but that tank leaks like hell. and then i accidently vaped it at 50 watts and choked up due to extreme cotton burn which the taste didnt go away.. so that was that ....ed hahaha. next thing im going to do is get the 1.2 ohm kanger coils and the carolina blend and try it in my subtank mini to see if that works... madness bro, madness. thanks for your time replying, 1 love.

Well, so much for trying to help.

You are successfully Failing at using several devices others enjoy Daily.
Think bout it!

Spitting and gurgling from your coil is usually a sign of it being over-saturated or on the verge of flooding. Drawing too hard is one probable cause.
Take one tank and one coil. Remove the coil and let it soak out wrapped in a few pieces of tissue for a few minutes.
Put the coil back in, make sure it's in tight. Tank 3/4 full to start.
Close airflow down. Turn power down. Start vaping. Normal pulls, should be like drinking through a straw. If the airflow is too tight, open it up until it is satisfactory.
Then start turning up the power until you get a satisfying vape. You'll know when you've gone too far on the power from the taste.
If it gurgles or spits, more power will burn of the excess, but you may have to start again with clearing the excess liquid by removing the coil.

Okay, changed my mind.

Just for Clarity. Lots of people experience Gurgling when learning. Like it or not, it is almost ALWAYS the user.

99% of today's Tanks are Bottom Feed. Gravity sux, but it also makes wicking a lot simpler.

If a tank(sealed properly) Starts gurgling:
Place a napkin/paper towel around the Air inlets. Blow gently to Clear Excess moisture and e-liquid from the Tube.(Yes, moisture/Slobber/etc.)
Wipe dry.
Tilt Battery high, fire and draw a few times.< this allows vaporizing excess liquid in the wick. The tank will not feed while inverted.
The gurgle should be clear within 1-4 draws.
Use as normal

Repeat until you figure out why you are creating to much Vacuum when inhaling.

** Forgot to mention one Key element:
Use one device until you understand and Master it. Buying and buying just leads to confusion.

... i don't think it's the kit. You've tried everything and nothing works, yet I strongly feel your kit in someone else's hands wouldn't have all these issues. Sometimes it does take a while before finding a sweet spot. Too many variables. But should you keep at it, I think you'll sort it out.

My first purchase was an Eleaf TC60W / Melo 2 sub-ohm with a wide bore drip tip, perfect for lung hits ... but it wasn't what I needed to transition from "tabs" to vape noob (where I'm at now). What did the trick for me was an Innokin Endura T18 ... nothing to adjust ... install battery, juice and vape dense flavorful "clouds".

Then I picked up an Aspire kit with VV and a Nautilus Mini atop. It provided just enough variable with the air adjustments on the tank and voltage adjustments on the battery, for me to begin to sort vaping out. NOW ... I revisit the TC60W and sub-ohm Melo with at least a little understanding ... still love that Innokin and Aspire though ... even with the gurgle and spit if I don't have the technique down or draw on it incorrectly. BUT ... I do know where the sweet spots are for each and at least for me.

So If you've tried everything, try something else ... or don't. Good Luck !!!

EDIT TO ADD: Some of that gurgle and spit may be your own spit (mixed) and coming back at you and/or one may not be holding their tongue correctly. Sometimes air across the tongue sounds deceptively like an equipment anomaly . Don't ask me how I know LOL. Something as simple as a different drip tip may help in that situation or try repositioning the location of the drip tip in the mouth. Frequent rinsing and cleaning of the drip tip as well as adjoining tank attachment areas with q-tips or patch cloth may be required until technique and equipment sweet spot are acquired.

I think Kevin was on the money. I had the same two thoughts:

1. You're drawing too hard. Very common going from smoking to vaping. I had trouble making the adjustment myself. Light, light. Practice technique.

2. Power level may be too low to vaporize enough juice.
When i first started this was me. I was ready to throw it all out the window. I dont remember how it i learned or got the hang of it either. I think this is really something you have to practice, well at least i did.

@DJJonnyT I think that's your problem right there. PG is very runny compared to VG, this lack of viscosity may be causing the wick/coil to flood hence gurgle city, population, you. Remember the negative pressure in the tank and the viscosity of the e-liquid are what prevents the contents of the tank from just dumping out of the air holes.
Try increasing the VG in the mix to say 40/60 PG/VG, this will also have the added benefit of more vapor should that be desirable.

While there is tons of good information here already I'll add that each tank and its factory coil has a "personality" that effects:
    • how well (or not) it wicks different juices (75/25,50/50,25/75, PG/VG)
    • optimum air flow
    • optimum power setting
IMHO: when using factory coils the adjustable air flow and power settings are not there to adjust the vape to how YOU like it but rather to adjust the vape to the SWEET SPOT OF THE TANK/ATOMIZER your using.

IMHO: gurgling and spitting come from (nearly) flooded atomizers which result from to much air flow and not enough power.

I'll echo the recommendation of others to pick ONE tank setup to learn and vape well. Simply put, you need to adjust your "style" to what works with the tank/atomizer setup you have.
