A couple of things.
1) The ban isn't permanent.
2) She earned it. I'm not the one that banned her but I read all of the posts and
threads leading up to it and would have done the same thing.
Bottom line, for all users, no matter how long they've been around is this;
Moderators and Admins will, at times, make controversial decisions. We will, from time to time, close or delete
threads that people are interested in. We will, from time to time, have to ban users for inappropriate actions (be they public or private). We will, from time to time, have to "be the bad guy" and deal with situations in ways that may not be popular.
When we have to do so, we do not want (and will not tolerate) people making a huge stink about it. We understand that people may have questions or may wish to attempt getting a decision reversed. We understand that some people will be very passionate about their beliefs and will get angry when certain decisions are made. We also understand that, many times, people don't know why things happen and just want an explanation.
When this happens, write a PM to a
mod or to SJ. Be NICE and tell us what's on your mind. The key word, here, is NICE. If we are able to explain the situation, we will. If there's some piece of information we weren't aware of that changes the circumstances of the closing / banning / infraction / etc...We'll take that information in to consideration and adjust our actions accordingly. We realize that we are human and, as such, are fallible. We don't see EVERYTHING so if there's something you know that we may not, let us know and we'll see if we can work it out.
Here's what you CAN'T do, though. You can't have a public tantrum. You can't go around opening thread after thread after thread, screaming about how unfair things are and how the fascist regime is goose-stepping all over your parade.
Open one thread having a fit, it gets deleted...at the very least. Open a second one, a third one, a fourth one, a seventh one...Well, you get the point.
Let's just leave it alone, shall we? We have all had a tough couple of days and it would be nice to have peace. No poo-flinging, no freaking out, no yelling and swearing...Just peace.
