3 pieces of ss mesh. Roll up 2, then roll about half of em up in the 3rd piece. resulting in a y shaped wick. Has anyone tried this? Or what are your thoughts?

I've never heard of this and I'm not sure how you would use it so it's tough to comment on. I'm assuming you're looking at this for use in a Genisis rba. If you are trying to get two coils on the top of the 'Y', you probably wouldn't have enough wicking action to make it work well. And if you could make it wick, I doubt you would have enough room between the deck and the cap to make it work.
