Sometimes the best thing a new vaper can do is smoke a cigarette. Now you've discovered that you haven't been missing out on much by not smoking, right?

Also, it makes you question what it will take to make vaping the perfect solution for you... let yourself discover why you did it; was it for the rush? the flavor? the ease of use? Maybe if you can find a set up that gives you what that cigarette gave you then you won't have a reason to want another one?

Congratulations on your post-vaping cigarette! I hope you discovered something about your journey through the experience.

+++1 to what Rosa said, as usual. :) If you deny yourself, they become that much more 'wanted'. I started out after the first week smoke free, but within 3 or 4 months I found myself smoking one or two here and there. I told myself it was better than a pack to pack and a half a day and decided to change my system. Now I can even leave the house for an hour or two without my e-cig and not want a cigarette.

Your sponsors are right here. Any time day or night you can post and find at least a couple of people who have been in your situation.

BTW, just out of curiosity, Rosa do you ever sleep???

Take the best tasting juice you have and buy a higher mg in the flavor. When you get the craving for a cig, vape the higher stuff for a bit. Ask yourself "why do I want that stinking thing when I can get my nic by vaping?" If you can't answer why, go do something you enjoy, taking your PV with you. You will be surprised that just getting your mind off of it and a little more nic in your system will stop you from reaching "FOR IT". Give yourself some time to get past that craving.

A month after I started I had a terrible day at work. Everything went wrong. I wanted a cig so bad I could taste it...literally. When I got home, I got my heavy hitter bottle of juice out, loaded a carto with shakey hands, and went for a long walk and thought about it. The walk and the higher mg helped me tremendously. Once home, no craving and I went back to my regular mg. All was good.

Not to sound like AA, but are there people out there willing to talk someone through not smoking? I just smoked a cig and I feel gross. :(

What has helped me (and of course I've only been 13 days w/o a smoke) is I don't have any cigs. When I want one real bad... I think about the fact that IF I go buy a pack I KNOW I will smoke the whole pack
and I just don't want that....

LOL! J/K, though I sort of do resent having to sleep so I put it off until it can't be helped...which is juuuusst about now.....

OMG! Me too! Granted, I love my bed, my blankets and snuggling with my kitties, but I can enjoy all that with my laptop and PV! And its even better if I'm awake to enjoy it. I understand... I'm slowly reaching my limit as my head starts nodding as I fight it.

Good to know I'm not alone... nite - nite - sleep tight!

I am at a very similar point as you (+1day). I started vaping in January, but didn't quit smoking until mid-March. I found my PV could calm those cravings, but it took more time vaping than smoking a cigarette, but eventually, with enough vaping, they would pass, or at least become tolerable. But, if I had cigarettes in the house, I would smoke them. I'm so thankful that I never tried ...., crack, ......, etc. Cigarettes were my Lays potato chips - I could never have just one. I would have one and next thing I noticed, I would have 3 left in the pack. And if there were only 3 left, I might as well just finish the pack.

I have to agree with what others have said, if you feel you need a sponsor, you aren't doing it right. You are switching to vaping. You aren't quitting anything. You want to keep smoking for a while. Smoke for a while. Get to the right nic level on your juice and the right PV and you'll find you enjoy it less. Eventually, you don't enjoy it at all.
