Spreading the word via media?

Has anyone made attempts to book Matt Salmon or one of the doctors that support electronic cigarettes on shows like the Daily Show or Bill Maher? If so, I'm curious what the response was. With all of the political issues surrounding them involving the FDA, ALA, pharma, the tobacco industry, etc it seems like the perfect topic for one of these shows. I saw a thread from 2009 where people were posting about ecigs on the FB daily show show idea forum, but nothing since then. Should we try to do something similar again and see if anything comes of it?

CBS News interviewed Dr. Riccardo Polosa and me (separately) regarding e-cigarettes. Dr. Polosa has just completed a large clinical trial of using e-cigarettes to stop smoking. CBS News had been looking for a vaper in the DC area to round out a piece on e-cigarettes. I learned that the reporter already had interviewed the FDA and the American Lung Association, both of which are opposed to e-cigarettes. So they really needed some representation from the other side to get a more balanced picture of the situation. I just sent off an email to the reporter asking her if she had some idea when the piece might be released.
