Just thought I'd add this diagram of some alternative spring mods. I've uses both methods for a month now. They work real well and usually I can vape'n dry before getting the crap taste. I like them mainly because the added contact to the atty make for better wicking and of course added ejuice storage. I'm not a huge vaper, but I can usually get by with two refills a day.
Essitially it's a vertical spring wound in to about a quarter of an inch of filler. I use standard poly fill so no info on aquamarine filler or the like. I like to widen the spring at the top so to crown the atty dome for added contact. The spring keeps a good pressure and after a fill i'll just push down on the fill and it will begin wicking, no need to drip on top.
the paper clip method works well too, but without the added springyness. So it means making adjustments for good pressure. I currently have two springs that I rotate and have used for a month or so with no corroding and no dead attys.
Hope the pick it clear enough, the text helps explain, but I couldn't get the picture large enough to read. Anyway enjoy.
