I can only speak to the performance of my FT Squape clone (manufacturer unknown).
As received, I found the draw to be terrible. A similar experience to trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose. So it collected dust for quite awhile until I decided to do some drilling.
The SQuape gets it's airflow from the 510 (a HUGE downside to me), so I started with drilling the small hole in the 510 to 1/16" and then drilling through it fully to create another hole in the 510 on the opposite side. I then drilled the center hole to 5/64". It now has a pretty decent draw.
Figuring out the wicking was a bit more of a challenge, but it seems to do best if you keep your cotton just short of the edge of the deck.
It is easy to build in terms of mounting a coil, but I found that I had to wrap my coil in the reverse direction that I normally would to best position the coil.
