Looks better than mine pdib. Got sidetracked with life so I haven't tried a second yet.

It was a 1/4" square rod I got from work. I work in a foundry so I have access to all kinds of grinding tools

I've usually wrap my coils around a small screwdriver. The screwdriver set I have also has small allen screwdrivers and have been thinking about using one of them sometime. Not square, would be hexagonal...maybe I'll try it now.

if you were to make an angled vertical coil facing the air intake with every other coil filled with wick on a square I'd be like wow but then you'd be able to do that on a round coil so I dunno.... maybe I should just shuddup now
