I use organic cotton all the time. It is VERY absorbent.

The organic cotton trip is rather silly IMO. The only thing organic about it is the growing process, they still bleach it and other various things before packaging.
Now if you look really hard, you can find cotton that has not been processed in the standard way but it will cost a bit more.
Best thing for you to do is just boil the crap out of whatever you get. Try one boiled and one unboiled, you'll immediately know why.

Not if you buy the right kind. It says no bleach used and it is turned white with natural color. Not sure what they use. But if you use regular cotton you may induce vomiting... Trust me... I tried it... Very chemical ish taste. And yes... You should boil it.

Edit: Adding a pic for clarification.
