Old post I know...
I have an octopus RDA. A bit quarky for me. I have stock air holes and build 28 ga on 1/16 drill bit at 1.3 ohms. I put it in as a chimney style wick (like a carto). With cotton wrapped around the coil. And that works for me when I can get the atty to fire.. (I have issues with the positive post on mine slipping up into the atty, and off contact with the positive pin in the 510 connection.)
Personally I don't like how little room there is for wick on the deck, or how little of a resivor there is on the octopus. Also the posts are a pain to get tight and keep tight.
I got an Igo w. I put a single 1.3-1.7 ohm coil in there and that seems to do ok. The draw is too wide for me even on the smallest setting. The igo has the posts that you thread your leads into like the octopus/squid, but with 32ga kanthal, a lot of times it will loose connection, because the wire gets cut when you tighten down the screw on the top of the post. Not a problem with 32ga.
I just got a trident RDA clone and LOVE IT! Took a build easily and vapes like a champ with same setup as octopus! A dream to build IMO, and perfect air flow control for me!
