Squirrels in the yard

Hey everyone, the other day I was looking out the window behind my computer monitors and saw 3 squirrels playing around and I just thought it was cute, so I went outside with my digital camera and recorded as much video as I could of these squirrels. Unfortunately you get to hear the neighbor yelling at her kids real quick which I found funny, but other than that it's pretty cute. Me my girlfriend and my dog were all on the porch and that didn't scare away the cute squirrels.

I always hear people talking about how much of a pain squirrels are in the yard and how much people hate or despise them but I find them to be cute as hell. Plus I love animals so that helps. Anyway thought I'd share this video, too bad I couldn't get the next 5 minutes after this recording because there was more playing until they ran up the tree and disappeared for the evening. They'll be back, they've been in the yard all summer, just never had the charged battery for the camera or the empty memory stick.

at the beginning when you hear the loud noise of something against the mic of the camera that's just me blowing a spider off the camera, then I wobble a bit because of stupid bugs not leaving me alone. But I did the best I could without a tripod, which I should have grabbed but didn't want to miss the moment.

DaMulta, all of my friends respond the same way "You should have taken out your 22, it's a good squirrel gun". Either way, good thing I'm not you because I like squirrels, if I hurt one it's because I caught it and squeezed it too hard. But then again people call me a hippy because I love animals (no I'm not a sheep f***er) <---- Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reference.

DaMulta, another Tulsan here! I have a friend, over in the Woodward Park area, who had the same 3-legged squirrel inhabit her yard for several years. So enjoy them... they may well become family!

You can buy squirrel proof bird feeders or if you are handy and have the equipment make your own squirrel proof bird feed protector. That way you don't have to give them heart attacks haha.

This would be a fun thing to make and video tape in your yard. YouTube - Squirrel Obstacle Course I have squirrels in my yard too. I enjoy watching them too. My squirrels are usurally fighting over food though.

I get them running around in my attic. My dad lays the humane cage traps up there, which is cool. They just go in and the doors shut. Only weird thing is my dad wont take them down the street or across town. he has taken them to NYC to a park on the west side highway and let em out. that's like 15 miles away lol. Tearin little squirrel families apart....

and in the rain they figured they'd try to hide in the birdhouse, unfortunately only one can fit in the birdhouse. I don't know where the 3rd one was today, probably found shelter somewhere else.

They say if you bring him across a river or other body of water similar, they wont come back. I guess that's his logic.

When I was young, my parents kept a bag of unsalted peanuts next to the slider. After a couple days of tossing the peanuts to them, they would come right up and take them out of your hands. It's fun! Eventually, if you were sitting out in the yard, they'd hang out near your feet hoping to get a peanut. Then the raccoons caught on and started doing the same thing, you can pet them if they like you.

.308 - I've been tempted to feed the squirrels, but I have a hard enough time feeding myself with the lack of money I get from my job. Plus I heard (I hear a lot of things haha) that they wont stop coming back and will start getting into other things around the house if you get them used to you feeding them and then you stop. Don't know how true it is since I've never done it though.

Should only be a dollar or two at a co-op for a bag of unsalted peanuts. No, they don't get into much, they were perfectly content with the peanuts, they even bury them in the yard for snacking later.
