Squonking every hit?

hey reonauts!,
Just got my first reo today with the reomizer 2 rda. My question is that I built a tidy little 1 ohm microcoil and it vapes like a beast. My problem is that I have to squint every hit! I put a decent amount of wick, not too much but not too little. I'm not getting enough saturation even from a 5 second squonk. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Nvm I'm an idiot. Guess it needed some "break in" all good now this thing is a beast!!!

Good to hear. I can get at least three good 5 second pulls off one squonk. Don't over tighten the juice bottle or it won't feed well. Undertighted can give the same problem. I go finger tight and then a hair more. Give a 3-4 second squonk and check for an air bubble coming out the bottom of the tube after you release. Also you can remove your drip tip while you squonk to see if flow is good. A 5 sec squeeze should fill the bottom of the rm2 pretty good... enough that if you tilt towards the airhole, the coil would be almost submerged in juice.

Congrats on the new Reo! It's a short learning curve to get down how long/how often to squonk. I almost just do it out of habit about every 2nd or 3rd draw. I can actually get 4 before it starts getting that telltale taste that I'm drying up, so I just do it well in advance. I used to take the top off, but now I can look at the air hole and when I see a bubble starting to form, I'm good. Have fun with it! There's nothing like it

Squonking is your friend - be one with it. No better, fresher or more flavorful way to vape.

Garym93 and welcome to ecf. Now ya just have to post a pic so we can all enjoy. Agree with what all the others said, it will get to so you don't even know you're doing it. Have fun.

Whenever I change my wick, I squonk it good and let it soak for 30 seconds. Then I fire it for 3 seconds, let it cool squonk again and repeat 2-3 times.

After that, my cotton is "broken in" and I can vape as normal.

Heh, congratz on the REO! Personally, I squonk every hit. If I don't, I get a dry hit half way through the next pull... but I do run the really short wicks (probably contributes to my requirement to squonk every hit).

I get 5-8 good hits off my 1.3 ohm ReadyXwick set up.

Squonking every hit sounds like more trouble than dripping or screwing with kayfuns .... but I'm super lazy.

Glad the ReadyxWick is working for you. Are you using the 3mm? I gave up on the 2mm, but I use thick, syrupy juice and it just wasn't moving it to my coils fast enough. I use Koh Gen Do cotton now and couldn't be happier. No break in time, and rather than changing my old cotton ball sourced wicks out every day, I now get about a week or two weeks on a wick. Never had a dry hit with Koh Gen Do either. Fantastic stuff.

I squonk about every hit or every other hit. I do have a fair amount of cotton in my build. I use a modified Trident V2 with dual coils, .39 ohms. Not a ton of it, but about 1/2" of cotton extending out of either side of both coils

Just like Tim here. I get at least 5 hits with my 2mm RxW on a 1.0 ohm. I guess my drags aren't very long but I wouldn't want to squonk every hit as well.

Glad the ReadyxWick is working for you. Are you using the 3mm?

Yes 3mm with 4 non micro wraps of 30g gives me 1.3 every time. I use a large size paper clip through the wick while I wrap and install .... when done I pull the clip out and the rXw is like a tiny straw .... I can see right through the center.
