Question for the steeping guide for this one.

I have a bottle of Strawnilla (Born 11/12/14) and hit it FOOB. Way too "strawberry milk" for me. Do the custard notes come from this after some steeping time? How long did you allow it to steep? I have a feeling I'm going to love it and I want to order more because I only have a sample size of it, but I'm unsure of the steeping time for this baby. I want maximum custard with a hint of strawberry. Am I expecting too much for this juice?

Thanks,
Dani

I sampled mine about a week after I got it. It was good but a little too sweet for me. I put it away to steep. I will say that my taste buds are mighty sensitive to the sweet stuff these days so I'm not sure it's the strawnilla. I haven't had a cigarette in nearly two months so I'm assuming that my taste buds are going through some changes right now. Anyway, it's in the steep cabinet and I will try it every once in awhile to see how it's hitting.

Dani, FOOB I did not like this liquid. Three month steep and I love it!

You'll know when it's ready because the color gets a much deeper pink.

I don't get the egg type custard but it almost becomes a strawberry shortcake to me. The mike turns into a dessert cream.

Now, this is what I'm looking for. Awesome. Thank you for your guidance.

I just drooled on my phone a little!!

I found my Strawnilla aged about 2 months is a bit custard forward (just a hair) but still strawberry milk deliciousness!!

That, my dear, is some serious strawnilla.

This is the only juice I have gotten in this size (and I thought it was not going to make the permanent cut) AND this is the only juice I will be buying another bottom feeder specifically for.

Yeah, two months in I was still recovering, it wasn't till about the 6 month mark that everything sort of reset.

I don't mean to hijack my own thread, but I've been wondering about my tongue.

I know, I know, it sounds gross.

I had a "smokers tongue" (what my dentist called it). My tongue always had a coat of white-ish brown coat all over the top of it. I would literally brush it until it was raw. Nothing helped.

It's faintly going away each day. Do you think this will go away with time? I still feel like my tastebuds are recovering from 22 years of tobacco use.

Thanks for any insight...

Try some apple cider vinegar...it seems to help almost anything.

Whew, I have some hope now. I tell you these past few days have been rough!

Yeah so everyone sort of goes through the process differently. Some for example spend months coughing up crap that was in their lungs (I did not get this phase) while others have issues with their smell coming back (that was the first sense for me). I realized my taste buds came back after I caught my self NOT adding hot sauce to everything. Who would have thought, food actually has it's own taste. Protip: drink a metric ton of water, I go through 3-4 fizzy Crystal Geyser's + 2-3 green teas + coffee + 3-4 regular bottled waters daily.

It's a journey and there will be good times and difficult times but NT and Reoville peeps are always available for help.

Wakonda is that way for me. Way too sweet. I mix it with 40/60 PG/VG (70% Wakonda/30% PG/VG), put it away for two months and enjoy it tremendously. There is no flavor decline with the 2-month additional steep, but it tames the sweetness.

I found the strawnilla very cream-forward initially (batch number 102814031, glass bottle) and had to wait about 2 weeks for the strawberry to start coming out. I see big potential, what is left on the wick turns pink when it sits overnight and that little bit is great in the morning, the strawberry really comes through. Its not doing too bad in a tank but still really creamy and light on the strawberry.

I second the Biotene and lots of water. Biotene, used daily, will speed up the tastebud restoration.
