I can't get the brass portion of my TS to shine like my untouched stealthcap... I used autosol on it a couple of times and it still didn't shine like that or is that impossible to achieve. Any tips?

That indeed is strange. My brass - top and bottom and also my latest brass tube all shine like in the photo. You may want to ask Imeo about that. Autosol should have made it scream.

If I may suggest, if using autosol - I would get the liquid - less abraisive then the tube. Flitz liquid is even less abraisive and works well on the body of TS

rubbing as we speak. Thanks for the tips guys. Maybe need a new tube of autosol. mine is years old and when I squeeze it something like oil came out first before the cream. huhuhu. Thanks again

Where do I get flitz & autosol?

You can get Flitz at most any store including the wall world types that have a sporting goods section. Although Flitz has many applications, it is still seen as a staple by firearms entusiasts and thus easier to find there.

Yeah Race, what you describe is common among chemical mixes of the type that polishes fall into. After an extended period of relatively light use and/or varying temperature extremes, it is kind of like oil based house paint. It will actually physically separate.

One thing you can do in a pinch is "remix" the contents. Be forewarned that it can get messy so do this over something like seversal layers of newspaper. You just leave the cap on and "squish" the contents back and forth in the tube to remix them. Obviously the tube can and does split and you have a mess.

But if it's a relatively full tube of a relatively hard to get or expensive polish, it may be worth the risk of a mess.

I just got my Cape Cod cloths yesterday and it shined up my GGTS quite easily. I can't really compare to anything else - I used one of my wifes jewelry polishing cloths the first time and it didn't work well at all, but I think they were old and a bit past their prime.

My GG is soooo sparkly now, I hate touching it - and I'm obsessed with keeping it shiny - I must wipe it down with my microfiber cloth about a dozen times a day.

Capt, I polished mine with a Cape Cod cloth the other day and it worked very nicely. In fact, I think it's now shinier than when I first got it, particularly the brass bits :) I soooo can't wait until Bruce has the brass telescopes in stock again, I just love that look and seeing my GG all polished up makes me want it even more ;-)
I haven't tried Flitz, yet, so can't offer a comparison

Cool, thanks Zoranth. My GF is getting me a dremel and polishing wheel kit for Christmas so it looks like the 6 piece kit would cover all my bases for anything I might ever need to buff/polish. Thanks for the link, I will be ordering those. I like the chart on the second link that lays out the course/fine guidlines and metal/other material uses. Now I'm thinking about everything else I can shine up lol
