I can not undo my button, been using needle nose pliers and no joy; why is it so stupidly tight? I mean the spurs on the little nut thing are starting to round it is that tight.
Searched for a thread on how to undo it though it is evading me.

*Edit. I apologise for saying "stupidly" tight, as I was the stupido it seems. :)

Button screws as a regular bolt Carol. And if you cant unscrew it then use pliers with a piece of towel between its jaws. So, lock the button and try to unscrew it first by hand and by keeping it from the lock ring. If its too tight then use pliers as I told you before. Its not so tight as you think.

I have been trying to take mine off too, but I was worried about turning it and breaking the locking piece. Am I to turn the lock all the way to locked and keep going in that direction to get the switch off?

AHA! I was able to get it off with just a sock!. Wanted to clean the contact point.

Aha, thank you all. It would of helped if I understood the mechanics of the button in the first place.
I was trying to loosen and damaged slightly the "star" bit of the button that is up close to the bottom tube.
Now it undone I understand that "star" does not even move.
...and yes it is not as tight as I thought. :)

didn't got the trick also, after some months with my GG I was thinking that I had a problem with the button lol

Now with that trick it's 100%! =)

Amazing that GG is always teaching something, GG keeps me thinking on how to improve and to get the best results, no matter what part of GG, the more you know, the more you think on how to get the best of it!

Thanks Imeo and GG Community :)

i wish there was a video on how to disassemble the button.

To take the button/switch apart I always us this method because there's no risk of damage

JB Kwik an old atty on the button and a wood screw or a 510 atty or anything with a flat surface on the plunger

Let it set for about an hour and then unscrew the button

Since the JB Kwik hasn't fully cured, it's easy to pop the button parts apart. What's left on can easily removed with your fingernail.

Works on all GG buttons and works every time

I use a set of 5" curved Hemostats to take the buttopn assembly out of the body. I wrap the tips in a fabric tape, first aid tape works well. This creates a skin on the tips that makes it less likely to marr the surface of the GGTS body.

On the older switches I used the same hemostats on the contact portion and a spongy rubber backed mouse pad on the other side of the button and bingo they come right apart.

On the new 2011 switches to disassemble the switch a 5 and 10mm socket is all you need.
