hey guys i dont know if this is the right area to post this (move it if its not) but im just in a tizzy about whats better im a sub ohmer but im getting my first genny soon (kraken) and i have to know whats better for sub ohm wicking, steel rope or SS 500 mesh, any idea's fellow vapeaholics?

Probably mesh. Kraken is definitely for ss mesh or rope, but you can also try cotton.
I vaped some tanks with 400 and 500 ss mesh but i didnt liked it very much. Oxidizing, hotspots, too much work... Cotton just fills the coil properly, so no hotspots occur.

Well the guy who runs my local vape bar does a SS mesh wick with cotton wrapped around the top so there is no hot spots or anything like that, he swears by it. But i keep seeing vids where ppl say rope has a better capilary effect as well as less hotspots, i was thinking about geting a very thin rop and wraping it in 500 mesh then wraping the top with cotton, that was il never have to do "the geny tilt"
Cotton wicks well but on top of the mesh it gets dry quickly i guess. 500 mesh wicks better than 400. Months ago, before micro cotton coils , vapers used wraped ecowool around mesh, cause its heat resistant. Cotton is just great wicking material and extremely cheap copmpared to ropes, mesh, ecowool!
