SS threads??

I got my Don yesterday and one thing I would like is a SS thread for the carto fitting instead of the brass one that comes with it, just for looks. Is there one available?

Also what type of atty/carto will fit on the outside threads on the 510 brass fitting?

I'm loving this mod and would recommend it to anyone.
Great service & shipping was super fast, I ordered it Thursday & had it in hand Sat. & I'm in FL.

The only issue I have is the battery charger is just a bit too small for the protected TrustFire 18650's that came with the kit. Very hard to get them into the holder, I had to put a lot of pressure on the end to get them to seat & needed to pry them out using a screwdriver.

Can we use batterys that do not have the nipple end? They would fit with no problem?

Yeah, I've had similar problems using trustfire 18650's in my TR-001 charger. Edging the positive nippled end in before completely seating the negative battery end into the charger seems to help those batts fit in there better. Or you can seat the negative and push the positive just far enough in for the light to turn red. Forcing batts in & out shouldnt be necessary once you find the method that works for you. Yes, flat-topped batteries work fine in the don. I switch between trustfires & flat-topped imr batts pretty regularly. You just need to adjust the screw inside the switch to account for the size difference.
Sorry, wish I could help you out with a stainless fitting, but our last shipment of dons only came with spare brass fittings. As for the outside of your 510 threading... It's actually an 801 hybrid. I use 801 fusion cartomizers on mine all the time. Its important to note that 510's have deeper threading than 801's, so the center pin on the bottom of an 801 carto will need to be wiggled out a bit to make proper contact (they're easily adjustable).

Is there a fitting that is 510/901? I have heard that the 901's are super.

Hey Dave,
There should hopefully be some more stainless fittings in the next shipment of megalodons, but I'm not sure how soon we'll be expecting another shipment. We're still pretty well stocked on aluminum dons. When dons & fittings come in, yes they will be put up on the site.
With how close the diameters of 510 & 901 fittings are I'm not sure a hybrid would be possible. Cool idea though. You can buy a 901 specific fitting on the site under mako/megalodon replacement parts. I don't believe they've ever made a stainless 901 fitting though. MAKO/MEGALODON 901 FITTING
Or you could just buy a 510-901 battery adapter if you'd like to try 901 on any of your 510 devices. Not as sleek, but it gets the job done
