Afternoon/Morning all

After a little help with what the coil on the right is ?

The coil on the left is a 0.5 SSOCC which I bought in a pack of 5 today. The coil on the right is what my local vape shop sells and tells me is 0.5 SSOCC as you can see there is a difference in size and the left coil has 3 wicking holes as opposed the one on the right which has 2. Has Kanger updated the SSOCC or do I have a fake ? The left coil is a nicer vape and the flavour between the two is night and day.

Thanks :)

The new NON temperature sensing ones have three holes and look like the one on the left and they wick better than the original VOCC's whilst vaping just as well IME and also lasting a bit longer. The thing on the right, I suspect is a fake, as I have looked at all the Kanger subtank coils currently in release and have not seen anything looking like it listed anywhere.

I've yet to receive any, but here are a couple of pictures I've found:

The above is listed as an AUTHENTIC Kanger SSOCC on Fasttech's site

kanger-online-store-100-authentic-ssocc-sub.jpg

A picture directly from Kanger. The profiles *ARE* different (flanged top as shown on the lower coils, for example)

Kanger-SSOCC-Replacement-Coil-Heads-2.jpg

This is called a "Replacement" coil on another site. Fasttech typically is good about using the term "Authentic" when it really is authentic. Otherwise, my presumption is that it is not.

Hopefully, other than maybe overpaying (?) for something non-authentic, if it works, I'd say go for it!

Yeah I can't find nothing like it either I did ask the Vape shop as they sell them singles without packets or boxes and they told me it was so they could store them easier they also charge £3.70 per coil.

I've bought a few of them now when I've been desperate not realising they weren't genuine only realised today when I got a genuine 5 pack of SSOCC delivered via an online order.

Thanks for your help I shall be avoiding that Vape shop in the future.

The top picture is the one on the left which is what I bought online and the box does say replacement coil on it and according to the Kanger website are authentic using the authenticity code.

The second picture is what my local Vape shop sells and is the coil on the right of my picture and are not as nice as the one on the left. The left one has 3 wicking holes which is nice :)

So I'm not sure now

Thanks

A friend who works at a vape shop got a Kanger Shipment in the other week. These coils came from Kanger. The 0.5 SSOCC is larger with three wick holes and the 1.5Ohm SSOCC coils are smaller with two juice holes. I suspect that Kanger is either 1) providing more juice holes for the 0.5Ohm to combat the dry hit problem with them or 2) transitioning to the smaller head because of the subvod using the nano and this increases the capacity of the tank.

TLDR: They're legit coils.

My neighbor gave me a coil that looks like the one on the right except for the color of the grommet which is black. He said it was a Kanger Clapton coil. It is the best coil I have used in my Subtank.

That's good to know I'll defiantly be going after the 3 hole coil in the future.

Yes the Clapton coil does have a black grommet and I have yet to try these and the blue grommet is for the TC.

Thanks

To @JavaJunkie's point, they look legit, but BLIMEY!!!! 3.70/coil????? In a pinch, yessssssssss, I suppose I'd pay that. Are they even in a blister-pack, or have they been popped out completely? If popped out completely, I'd run like the devil. Who knows who's touched what before handling that coil?????

Yeah no blister pack they are stored in a plastic container they have hundreds of them. But after trying this 3 wick SSOCC I won't be buying anymore of them if Kanger have updated them it's not showing on there website.

Thanks :)

Yeah round my way it's £4 for one .5ohm SSOCC coil.

I only go through two a month, so can get cheaper if buy in bulk online, but only if buying juice online too, so only buy em in bulk when ordering juice online. This month's juice came from the store so just picked up 2 coils for £8....

Clapton coils - if they're as horrid as the aspire BVC clapton coil, I'll not ever try them. Strip your throat bare they do....

Wait. I must have missed something. They're not in a blister pack? I've never seen that. They arrive in the blister pack in the boxes. I'd ask about why the blister pack was missing.

I've tested both types. Correction: I've tested the horizontal, org vertical, and the SSOCC. The SSOCC perform the best of all of them for me regardless of the number of juice feeder holes. Of course, you don't use the same power setting for 0.5 and 1.2.
