There are several video's and tutorials here on ECF for making SS mesh wicks for Vivi's and I have 2 in front of me. It's a bit harder since you have to open up the slots the existing wick goes into but it's doable if you oxidize your wick and use some caution.
While I have run mesh wicked things (vivi, rba's, etc) on ego's I also tested them very well with a multi-meter before doing this. Most out there will say it isn't advisable and your taking a risk, which you are, but it can and is being done all the time. The reason you typically do not is the lack of protection some eGo's have if you get a dead short in the build. There are some that say the eGo-C Twist does have some protection and maybe that's why I've never had any problem with them.
One last thing using anything rebuildable on an eGo is the current/amp draw on those types of devices can exceed the rating of the eGo batteries thus causing premature damage to the battery and/or board that controls them. Even if it works, over time it's been said, that it doesn't do them good. If RBA's and SS mesh wick things are something you may want to jump into, the best thing is to find a good mod such as a tube mod Vamo, ZMax or even Provari which have those protections and made for saving your mod/batteries from dead-shorts and other electrical mishaps. In the long run it's a better vape (IMO) and while it may cost you some scratch up front for the necessities to get a APV w/ Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage, it's pennies once you experience and use them over the course of a year or more.
Cheers!
