I have about the same experience with vaping as you - about 2 years. I started with probably one of the worst kits for beginners - These Joytech "cigalikes" that I can't even remember what they're called. They have an iphone-looking charger and are exactly the same size as an analog. They work well but are ALWAYS either in need of a charge or more juice or both. ALWAYS. It was very frustrating and to quit smoking with this kit was much harder than it should have been.
Since then, I've gone through a few different setups. The very best one for a beginner that I've seen is a nautilus X tank with any decent off-the-shelf mod that can deliver up to 18W. Right now I'm using a pair of COV minivolts. That setup is VERY compact, and the nautilus X is the most "no-fuss" and reliable vapor producing tank/coil combo that I've tried. No leaks (in spite of it 'living' in my pocket all of the time), long coil life, easy and quick refilling and zero annoying maintenance issues.
You really want "uncomplicated" and no fuss for a guy that is just starting, and intends to quit. Because confusion/problems lead to buying cigs, and reducing a beginner's confidence that vaping is actually "good enough" to replace cigs.
