I had a long winded discussion with myself about this and finally decided against it.
As with everything else in vaping, there is NO GOOD OR BAD WAY, just YOUR way!

Here is the deal. All I've seen for nic juice is 100/0, 50/50, 0/100. So I don't think you will be able to get it at say 70/30 , 60/40. You will then need to mix it for your desired PG/VG. So you should by two nic juices. One 100/0 and another at 0/100 both at the same nic level(mg). That way you can get to whatever PG/VG you want.![]()
Wow, I'm seeing prices all over the map for 6mg unflavored nic juice, 80/20 to 70/30 ranging from $10/250ml to $60/250ml. Surely I'm not comparing apples and apples? Zebras and goats?![]()
I didn't even see that. If I had, I might've gone that route this time around (but would've had to play a little bit with the nic/PG/VG thing). Then only premixed flavorless I could find was ecblend ($58 for 250 ml) and vapor renu ($40 for 8 ounces). Yeah, I heard FlavourArt is super concentrated, so it's a make or break thing with single drops in that small a quantity.
Here's the link, Trainguy: eCigExpress Flavorless Liquid ...in case you had trouble finding it.
Update to supply list: a funnel and a bigger bottle with a stopper to premix the base in (unless you wanna play scientist every time). My stuff just came and I'm scrounging a little bit right now...
This thread is getting pretty confusing. So if I may be so bold, how about we use a common language.
Nicotine Base Liquid (ejuice) = nic + PG + VG ( 100/0, 50/50, 0100 ) which comes unflavored in varying strengths (mg) and sizes.
premixed = nic + PG + VG + flavor. Generally 80/20 or 20/80 for the most part. i.e. RY4, Desert Joe, etc.
Juice Base Liquid = a base for flavoring that you have made to your desired PG/VG and strength (mg) in sizes you make ( 30,60,120ml etc.). Making note that when you add flavor you alter the PG ratio.
flavor concentrates = flavors that contain NO nic but can have either PG or VG as their diluting agent from vendors like TFA, FA, etc.
Following some of the previous links :
Flavorless eLiquid - ECBlend aka juice base liquid
Yes you can pick PG/VG/mg at 0, 6,18,24,36mg and PG/VG's of reduced PG, whatever that is, 40/60, 50/50, 60/40.70/30,80/20 and 100/0 and pay $ 58 for 250ml.
e juice
Has a wide range of options( 10/90 - 90/10, 0, 6,18,24,36mg,TH, nic, Menthol, etc. for $ 40 for 236ml. This one would probably be the best for your "store bought" " Juice Base Liquid" but now how do you get 3mg nic if you want? Buy two ( same size ) and combine. One 0mg + one 6mg = 3mg.
Shopping for Nicotine Base Liquid (ejuice) is a trip all its own. Prices vary and everyone has their own sources. In my experience xxx has the best prices! Not getting into that battle. But, I got :
More than enough to mix to my hearts content!
Subtotal: $62.85
Shipping: $5.95
Tax: $4.56
Grand Total: $73.36
USP Grade Vegetable Glycerin
(Size: 500ml) $16.95
USP Grade Propylene Glycol
(Size: 500ml) $16.95
UnFlavored Nicotine Smoke Juice E-Liquid
(Size: 250ml, Strength: 60mg, PG/VG Mix: 50% VG) $28.95
Now we are having two main discussions. To "mix" using the ejuice calculator or to "blend" meaning create ( or buy ) your own juice base liquid and just add flavor concentrates.
The other that we haven't really discussed much, combining " premixed " like RY4, Desert Joe for our desired PG/VG. These are mostly available in 80/20 and 20/80 which makes it easy to combine for your desired PG/VG as long as you get them both in the same strength(mg). Of course you could get one at say 24mg and one at 12mg and using equal parts wind up with 18mg at 50/50. If you were to mix different quantities of different strength you would have some other nic strength that is above my math pay grade.
I've had it with the "mix" method ( long story mentioned earlier) and am moving to the "blend" method. This gives me complete control of PG/VG and mg's. I'm willing to live with the altered PG ratio because I can come up with non standard PG/VG 's like 65/35 if I find that is what I need.
If you buy a "store bought" " Juice Base Liquid" you are pretty much restrained to their PG/VG & mg's. Unless you start mixing their blends which kind of defeats the purpose.
Now, let the volleys begin
EDIT: Didn't mean to get so long winded!
I suck at badminton.
Sorry was my fault. Outside of my job I am not very technical. Will try to be more so. I wont have much time for experimenting for a couple weeks.
All information is good.![]()

Just a quick comment on the ratio being affected by adding flavors. If a calculator like ScubaDans is used to create the base, PG+VG+nicotine, the required amount of flavor hasn't been added. I have found that allowing a 10% factor for flavor seems to work with flavors I have been using , and while it does drive the amount of PG/VG/nicotine for the base, I don't think that there is much variation after adding flavors, even at amounts slightly higher or lower than ten percent. I'm working with some stronger flavors at the moment, one to five percent levels, and there isn't any difference in the finished product that I can taste although maybe vapor output is a tad higher. Then again my tastebuds could be shot at my age!
Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.
Ok keeping it really really simple, would this work?
I can buy 250ml of 12mg nic unflavored 100%PG for $13.49 here:
http://www.ecigexpress.com/e-liquid...flavored-e-liquid-nicotine-select-size-p-1479
Along with 120ml of 12mg nic unflavored 100% VG for $6.49 (same page as link above).
So, mixing them together, I have 370 ml of basically 70/30 ish PG/VG that I could just pour out as needed into small bottles and add flavor concentrates....right? Or am I missing something.
My tastes are fairly simple, other than RY4 I get from SI, mostly red hot cinnamon, and fruit / ice flavors from Vapedudes.
Although I know it's not the cheapest route, kinda like the idea of it being very simple.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark

what percentage of ry4 are you using in 30 mils ?
i have been using 20% in 30 mils. 6 mils in 30 mils.
i just can't get it right,,,i go up,,i go down,,,but just can't get it right.
I have been using 2 % ry4 flavorart and 2 % vanilla same co. Flavorings. If i go any higher i get sick from it. I call it ry4v. I love naming my flavors.
120 total vg divided by 370 total volume is .3243 vg subtract from 1 for pg. Adding flavors will diminish slightly depending on how much used......
